What People are saying

Nice resort

UK1979 on 04/11/2017 18:31

We stayed in a 2 bed apartment and it was absolutely fine. The furniture was ok even if the bed was a bit uncomfortable. We enjoyed having the pool and hot tub almost to ourselves most days. The BBQ was easy to use and cleaned daily. Many amenities were within close driving distance and I would be happy to stay here again.

3 Star because of WIFI

Perkadventures on 20/10/2017 06:05

Nice unit 1bedroom suite with kitchen and living room. We had ground floor with patio slider easy too central pool. If you are upstairs you have to walk around buildings to pool. Pool was nice with lots of sun and sheltered from wind. 2 Bbq areas near pool.

Seems to be 2 companies sharing the resort. WIFI may cost you money to include rental cost. Could only get 2 bars and video would not play on cellphones or IPad. Good phone bars.

Hopefully they can fix WIFI

Great time at Cimmarron....

Cimarron Resort is a worldmark property's that we have stayed at several times, just a few miles from down town Palm Springs and shopping and great food. Love that we can walk to the golf course and be back in the pool with in minuets.....

The room was big! The resort was meh.

TRIP ADVISOR REVIEW
The room was big! The resort was meh.
We purchased a vacation at a charity auction for Camp Kesem (for kids whose parents have/had cancer) which included a week at the Cimarron Resort in Cathedral City via The Raintree Vacation Club Timeshare. The front desk staff on our Monday arrival was, I wouldn't say cold, but she was definitely not the smiley, welcoming sort of front desk staff I'd assume management would want representing their first impression.
The room itself was wonderfully large and open, although for a non-smoking room, it had a pretty strong smokey. Once doors/windows were opened, it seemed to improve, although at least the first few days, I'd smell it again whenever we left & then returned again with everything closed up. As for decor, it wasn't exactly the most modern looking/feeling, but that's not something our family prioritizes so not a big deal at all for us.
The housekeeping & maintenance staff were very friendly, but the front desk staff, as well as the clubhouse restaurant staff were less-than-friendly and made every question or request feel like a huge burden on them. A prime example was when I asked the front desk a question about housekeeping (specifically, I noticed an info sheet in the room which said that the rental agreement would dictate what housekeeping would be provided - ranging from daily hotel-style to less-frequent/thorough long-term-stay-style - so I wanted to get clarification on what we could expect): the 2 women there at the time began answering my question before I finished asking, but unfortunately they answered the question: "when will housekeeping come" rather than my actual question.
Another problem was that the tap water was cloudy all week. Not sure if that's the norm as I never asked any staff about it (I stopped engaging with the front desk after 2 or 3 tries because I quickly got tired of feeling like a burden). It didn't taste bad and I assume it was totally fine to drink, but still - not a good look.
But the BIGGEST problem was the pool's heater being broken. I was hoping to spend the week frolicking in the pool with our 4-year old son (I even had fantasies that he'd learn to swim that week) but it kept getting colder and colder with each day. On Thursday, I called the front desk (who was SHOCKED the pool was cold since it's supposed to be 85 degrees at all times) and finally on Friday afternoon, warm water started pouring into the pool. Unfortunately we had to leave on Saturday morning which means that I had very minimal time with pool frolicking (& none with anything resembling a warm pool). VERY disappointing part of our trip. Definitely didn't ruin it by any means, but huge disappointment nonetheless.
So overall, the trip was nice, and the hotel was meh. We loved the size and cleanliness (smell of room notwithstanding) of the resort, but overall, at best, I was not impressed, and at worst, I was disappointed. In fairness, though, my wife was very happy with the room, although the resort as a whole left things to be desired.
Would we stay there again? If an unbelievably fantastic deal is offered: yes. Without one- probably not.

Good Location, Well Maintained

This was our first visit to Palm Springs area, and have stayed at other Raintree properties. We stayed in a ground floor "B" room which is only the lock-off portion of a two bedroom. We were a little concerned it would be too small, but were pleasantly surprised with the space. Everything was clean and neat, and the queen size bed was pretty comfortable. There was a chest of drawers in the bedroom area, and two additional large drawers in the bathroom, but it felt just a little limited on storage for our needs.

The free laundry facility on the grounds was exceptionally clean and nice, and was centrally located to all of the rooms - right next to the pool. The location is very quiet even with the golf course traffic, and our little patio area was actually fairly private and not windy.

All of the staff members we encountered were helpful, friendly, and attended promptly to our various inquiries. We booked our room through our Raintree membership and free wi-fi was included; however other rooms in the same group of properties are managed by other companies and do not always include free wi-fi (as I overheard a couple being reminded when they checked in.)

Cimarron is also centrally located to many attractions including Joshua Tree National Park, Palm Springs Aerial Tram, Living Desert and Zoo, and the many golf courses. It was easy to get from our hotel to all adjacent communities for restaurants and shopping. The property is gated and locked in the evening which was nice.

We mainly chose Cimarron because of the proximity to the nearest NASCAR track at Fontana - only about 60 minutes travel time even in heavy traffic. The location, cleanliness and beautiful desert to explore will no doubt bring us back at some point!
