We came here to get our fix of culture and have a place to put our heads at night. The hotle is comfotable without being pretentious. There is everything you need, including a small bottle of sekt as welcome present, which you can drink from the balcony with view over the valley towards town. We would definitley stay here again.
For those on a budget, there is a Rewe supermarke nearby where you can buy things for a simple supper.
Better than expected

Very comfortable. We got a room on the 5th floor so we had a very beautiful view of the landscape. It has coffe machine but we recommend to buy extra coffe because you will get only enough to use once per day, sometimes not even that, during 2 days we got none = ( we had asked at reception with no succes. Our stay was very pleasent, the supermarket it's near. The surroundings are very nice and quiet. We love it !! Looking forward to go back any day!!!
Very nice at a fair price

A very nice place to stay at a reasonable price. Many elderly Gemans here. The Hotels lays outside of Weimar, but there is public transport to the center. Rooms are spacious, well equipped, clean, and have a balcony. I liked especially the water pot to make tee and coffee. Breakfast is ok. You have to get accustomed that coffee in these regions is not really what we are used to in southern Europe. Dogs are allowed, but not in the breakfast room. If there is anything that could be better, it is the light system: only one switch at the entrance for the central lamps is not enough….
Far from the town center

The intent of the East German State was to create the "New Socialist Man", in good part by moving everyone they could out of the city center and into pre-fab (Plattenbau) apartment complexes on the outskirts of town. This hotel is a conversion of one of those pre-fabs. Having been in the original thing quite often, I'm impressed with what they accomplished - this is a serviceable place to sleep, and there is a big grocery store nearby. But it is too far from Weimar to serve as a base for a visit. We found a much better alternative for the next two days at a B&B (Gaestezimmer Sachs) on the south side of town, an easy and pleasant walk to the certer.
Affordable family hotel at the outskirts of Weimar

Affordable family hotel in the quiet outskirts of Weimar. Ideal hotel for a stop over or to visit Weimar itself. Easy acces to the public transport to the city center of Weimar. Friendly staff, no restaurant but a quality snack with regional ingredients was welcomed after a days drive. Good breakfast buffet with regional products and staff attending if necessary. toThe rooms are spacious and clean. Unfortunately no air conditioning on a +30°C day. Free parking across the street. Shopping center and petrol station nearby. All in all a recommandabel hotel at a very fair price.
