Good value

Stayed here whilst attending a family party. Rooms were comfortable and clean. A continental breakfast was included in the price but none of us ate here so I can't comment on the food. Staff were friendly. A really good value hotel with great transport links.
Very good value for money hotel, good location

Very near the M1 and town with a good free car park.
There's also a pub and Toby Carvery on the same site which is very convenient. Hotel has its own restaurant and bar as well although not very obvious or well manned.
Hotel is rather short-staffed as there was nobody to greet us, we had to get them from the bar (all three of them!). Also, we saw the same people day and night so they must work long shifts and, hence, are not as helpful and attentive as they would like to be.
I've seen people saying the noise was a lot, we didn't have such issue at all. We were in 305. The room was very spacious, modern and clean. The mattress could be better but overall very good room. There was a walk-in shower, basic but nice. Shower power and consistency, however, was an issue and probably the biggest issue we had.
Continental breakfast was included but we founded rather basic. For example, there was no meat although we went at 8am. There was also the option to upgrade for £5 per person for full English breakfast but we didn't as we found it rather expensive given that breakfast was included.
Would certainly return for £39.
Okay hotel close to the motorway

The Ibis Styles is approx 100 metres from J37 M1, and has a large free car park. There is a Toby's Carvery on the same site, though the hotel does have its own bar and restaurant (which didn't get much use from other guests while I was there).
Check-in was nice and easy, though I do wonder why I have to fill out all of my details when these would have been on the booking I made. I was offered a room preference and asked for a quiet one - I ended up in room 328 on the top floor. Unfortunately, this turned out not to be quiet at all due to the railway line only a few metres from the window (the noisy diesel trains run every half an hour or so between around 7am and 11pm).
The room was light and airy and quite large, with a decent-sized bed (apparently queen), a manual radiator on the bathroom wall a few inches from one side of the bed, a clothes hanging space, a small table with tea and coffee making facilities, a flat screen TV, and black-out (ish) curtains.
Over the two nights I was there, I found the bed to be uncomfortable, and the windows did nothing to deaden the noise from the railway. The radiator worked, but it had to be manually adjusted so took a bit of working out what setting was best. Due to there only being a few inches between the bed and the radiator, it only warmed one side of the bed and not the rest of the room. Whilst laminate floors may look nice and be easy to clean, in a room that doesn't get very warm, they can be cold to walk on first thing in the morning,
The bathroom was nicely appointed with walk-in shower and single-piece glass sink. The shower lacked power (possibly due to being on the third floor) and the water encroached too easily onto the rest of the bathroom floor.
Overall the decor was okay, but looking a little tired. Some of the lights were a bit quirky being house in glass jars, but there was some paint missing from the wall next to the clothes hanging area, and there were liquid marks on the bathroom wall above the light switches.
The bar/restaurant takes up a decent amount of space and there was quite a decent menu. Whilst I made use of the bar, it didn't seemed many other guests did the same. On the Thursday night, there were less than a handful of guests, and on Friday night I was the only one there. The food was good quality, and actually better than some Premier Inns I've been in, and although there wasn't much in the choice of beers on tap, the American Shipyard Pale Ale was very good.
A "continental" breakfast was included in the room rate, with a £5 upgrade for full English breakfast. I only had the free breakfast, and I guess it was adequate, though the choice was quiet limited and included the tiniest pain au chocolat I've ever seen.
The whole hotel looked like it had probably been taken over by Ibis a few years ago and renovated at the time, and was in need of a bit of a tidy up.
All of the staff I encountered were friendly (aren't all Yorkshire people?), though they were occasionally noticeably absent (no-one at breakfast on Friday morning, at the bar Friday night, and on check-out Saturday morning).
National holidays

I stayed here for 1 night on a two day holiday with National Coach holidays. The room was clean and comfortable although basic. Cold wooden flooring, personally i prefer carpet in bedrooms and wet room rather than bathroom. The evening meal was well below average, luke warm and tasteless and to top it all i found a chunk of glass in my ice cream. Not what is expected really. Breakfast adequate, staff nice and pleasant. Wouldnt stay again by choice.
Incorrect booking - addressed to Accor Hotels rather than Ibis

I wanted the Saturday night, specified it on the search and the deal came up and apparently it was for Thursday. There was no warning before the booking. Hence I get to Ibis on the Saturday and the blank stares confirm a wrong booking. I had to do a last minute booking to Wakefield to a Hotel I wouldn't have stayed at, so I got twice the cost.
