Strongly recommend this hotel in the amazing city of varanasi. The hotel for a westerner is located within walking proximity to a mall with Pizza Hut and mcdonalds:) there’s great food at the hotel but it’s a good option if needed. The hotel itself is clean, hospitable and has good facilities. The
rooms are spacious, clean and makes your stay enjoyable. It takes about 15 minutes to the Ganges so not to far.

Best hotel among hotels I visited till now....spacious room,pool side bar very attractive,food quality is good especially kaju panner korma...my favorite.....conference halls also available....the best thing of this hotel is breakfast is free of cost

The property is located in a less crowded part of Varanasi- Cantonment area , amongst all other branded hotel properties.
The property is a bit dated but still well maintained. They could do with a change/upgrade of room furniture and bathroom. Bed mattress are a bit creaky too.
However with Varanasi lacking branded hotel properties and running a full house in season time, an upgrade may not be high priority for the owners
Breakfast spread is decent and dinner service was good.
What makes me grade the property lower is essentially the conduct of duty manager at reception Mr Ajay. For the first time have I encountered such a rigid person who lacks sense of judgement and flexibility. At check in while my ID had a residence proof, my wife's did not, even though it was a government issued ID. The booking was in my name. Mr Ajay's immediate comment was that no room can be offered to me if I cannot provide a ID such as passport or driving licence for my wife.We offered her PAN card, but stone faced Ajay refused to accept. After some deliberation he did relent , but that did leave a sour taste to the experience of check in. Now I have stayed in quite a few properties in India across cities and am an extensive traveller with my wife. While acknowledging that Mr Ajay may have a process to comply with, but handling the discussion they way he did, showed an attitude of "I don't care" - "comply with what I tell you else you can leave"
On many occasions that we were in the lobby we witnessed a number of arguments that Mr Ajay was getting into with other hotel guests. I suppose it's a way of life for him.
Will never return to this property again for sure

Varanasi such a amazing & wondeful city. Ramada Plaza was sadly lacking in so many ways. Good stuff first, nice staff in restaurant. Men at doors....very nice too. Breakfast...i enjoyed that very much. BUT...seeing we were part on a Indian Tour trip and we had been getting 5 star hotels this one certainly did not cut the mustard. Single beds, pushed together on request...yet still not made up as double....terribly stained towels and very filthy bathroom. Toilet in main foyer never had loo paper available...silly stuff that was annoying. 2 things really made me mad!b Firstly my massage with Regina I think her name is.....2500 it cost for 60 mins, what a drama that was,,,firstly i wandered over to where you go for massage and the guy told me it was on a cash only basis....weird i thought and said cant i pay on check out and he said no go and that i should go to reception and use atm to get cash and also his eftpos machine was not going, Reception called him and said i could put on by bill...embarrassed much...yes. So again i go back....go get massage and what a waste of time that was...one handed massage....Regina on the cell phone for at least 50 mins or whipping in and out of room to collect tips from previous clients (supposedly) and informing me that i leave tip too...needless to say...i didn't...oh and she tried to end massage after only 45mins..you know in india your always getting hassled for money but my safe haven is the hotels...not so with this hotel. We were with another couple who were quite unhappy here also, I must mention 2 people on reception who took no notice of our grievances and choose to flag us off. Aish & Proteck. very very unhelpful. I would suggest that no one goes by their supposed 5 star as its only a 3 star. I truly would love to know how this hotel got rated 5 star. We have informed the Indian Tour group NEVER to send clients here.

Room was quite good. Ours looked over the back garden and pool.
Garden and pool area a good place to relax after sightseeing. Food was very good.
The hotel organised their car to take us out to another restaurant we wanted to try on one night for a reasonable fee.
