What People are saying

Horrible, Disgusting and Atrocious!!!!

OriginalJim9357 on 31/01/2017 11:56

After a flight from the UK I didn’t arrive for my one night stay until almost midnight, not the most inviting reception areas but no problems with check in and proceeded to my room. I opened the door and was met with a lounge area with a TV and a small kitchen and a bedroom with a TV and en suite which initially looked ok see photos. It was the night of the American presidential election and I was curious to see what was happening so on dropping my bags on the floor picked up the TV remote in the bedroom to switch on and immediately thought ewwwwww! The remote was to say the least filthy, the one in the lounge area was no better. On looking around I soon discovered the extent of filth, neglect and the disgusting complete lack of basic housekeeping that was present in this apartment.
Kitchen
The cooker was old, chipped and not cleaned properly. The Fridge was not cleaned properly, spillages, hair and bits of food in all areas.
En Suite
All the “chrome” items were rusty, the bottom of the shower curtain was filthy, and the grout in the shower area tiles was full of presumably grime, soap and body fluids. I found a hair from the previous occupant or the “Maid/Cleaner” (I use that term very loosely) on the sink. The toilet surprisingly looked clean(ish) but the seat was cheap and broken.
Bedroom
The carpet by the bed was dirty, curled up at the edges and when I pulled it back I found the floor to be grubby and a hair from maybe a few previous occupants ago? I pulled the duvet back and found the sheets to have marks on them one of the marks looked like dried in blood or rust? The pillows also had signs of a very poor laundry service. The chair also was filthy! The ironing board was no better.
I could probably go on but I think the photos I have attached help to show how really poor this place was. Anyway, I went down to the reception and asked for housekeeping to change my bed. After explaining why I asked to speak with the duty manager and the girl looked to a man sitting beside her who had been listening to our conversation. This man was the duty manger and when I asked why he didn’t intervene in the conversation he didn’t answer me. I told him to follow me and took him up to the room where I showed him the horrible filth that was partly his responsibility. His reaction was only to look at what I was showing him and nod his head. I said to him that I am not asking for another room as I am only here now for a few hours and that the other rooms would probably be of similar standard? He didn’t answer which was not surprising!
Housekeeping came and changed my sheets and when I made a further inspection I found (although faint) another dried in mark which should be visible in photo 25
I really needed to iron so devised a method to do so with relative cleanliness, I decided I was not going to walk on the floors or sleep under the duvet so used a towel out the bathroom to cover the carpet where I removed my shoes only, slept on top of the duvet with my clothes on and covered the pillow with a T Shirt. Didn’t take a shower, felt awful but believe me it was a better option.
I think there may be an Indian cuisine restaurant but needless to say I did not visit so cannot comment.
So, there is nothing Royal about this place, it is horrible and disgusting and I am happy to say that there is a note on my companies travel booking system to ensure that none of my colleagues are subjected to this atrocious excuse for a hotel!!!!

was not that good

furniture is bit old, bathrooms could really use a refurbishment, rooms has wired smell at the beginning until you open the windows it get better, however the staff were friendly and helpful when needed.

i think they could do better.

Nothing Royal About it!!!!

Though I am not a big fan of Ramee group but this one has to be worse till date. Average rooms, below average room amenities, awful bathroom...Room was too cold and temperature control was not working whatever we tried ('we' - as we were a group of 4 people in different rooms).

Terrible room service...sample this response from a waiter when he had come to deliver coffee in the room and I asked for water bottles, "you should have ordered this along with coffee and saved me a trip...".

Less said the better...just avoid it..!!!

Old hotel & far from tourist spots

I wasnt supposed to check in to this hotel but the other 'sister' property was full so I had no choice.

This property is very old, room had this weird smell, poor WiFi connection, rusty bathrooms, obviously need to be refurnished.

Only few good things about this hotel: accommodating receptionist, nearby small grocery stores & loads of taxis in the area so it is easy to go anywhere.

There Are Better Apartments

I stayed here for a total of nine months as a long term tennat.

Although the Hotel meets basic requirements, there are far too many issues regarding maintenance, wifi, facilities, cleaning, service and professional attitude of the hotel, which overallwas poor.

Everything requested maintenance wise or house keeping takes several days if not weeks. We had cockroaches in the kitchen area more than once and regular water leaks into the kitchen and apartment. These things happen, however it is the response and the attitude of the management who seem to treat customers like they are idiots, espaecially if they are female customers!

I would not recommend this hotel at all to anyone travelling to the city, even though the majority of staff did the best they could with the resources provided.
