I had a great stay at this place. Packed my bags just for a couple of days, but the staff there was so nice which made me to come again after a couple of days stayed there for almost 10 days. Very nice staff, very hygiene and cleanly maintained rooms. Kudos to the administration and thanks to the management staff Ms. Haizel, Mr. Darwin and Ms. Reena for making my stay so comfortable, memorable and enjoyable.
Will visit you soon.

Stayed at this hostel in the off season. Was in the 6 bed dorm. Overall a good experience. It was quiet at that time of year. I'd go back, but one thing I would note is that there were only a couple outlets for our whole room.

My friend and I stayed at Rampart four nights. Out of them, we had the hostel to our self thee nights. We slept at the six bed dorm. It was clean. No hot water even though they said it should work. One of the staff weren't helpful at all, as we were to book a train to Varkala, and we couldn't find out how to do it our self, so we went to another hostel to get help.
Otherwise the staff is friendly. Beds are good. A shame that there are not any commenroom or terrace.
We asked for toilet paper and soap, but had to wait until the next day to get it..
The place is okay - our expectations were much higher than what we experienced as we read a lot of good comments here on TripAdvisor .

Rampart Homestay is a pleasant hostel recommended as long as you can get past the mosquitos that may feast at you if you don't plug in the provided electronic mosquito repellent. the staff is friendly, bathroom clean, and location a 5 minute walk from Fort Cochi and the prestine chinese nets. Enjoy your stay with the opportunity to meet travelers from across the globe.

Stayed there for 2 nights. We booked a standard room and we were upgraded to an executive room for the same price as standard rooms got overbooked.
PROS:
1. Excellent Location @ Fort Cochin - 10 minute drive to Mattancherry, fort cochin, beach, St. Francis Church.
2. Neat rooms, clean and hygiene toilets.
3. Free parking available - Roadside parking.
4. Private rooms, shared rooms with bunk beds available.
5. Reception staff are very friendly.
6. Value for money.
7. Free internet - Good speed.
