Glenda Ron 14/11/2017 14:00Great place to relax after a day of fun with your partner. Clean, helpful staff. great location, close to shopping and the campus . Everything the city has to offer is at your finger tips. Close to interstate. Lots restaurants in area to satisfy your taste buds.
Yuck!
Jay Son 02/11/2017 03:37Wasn’t expecting much as this was a same day booking for just grabbing a night’s sleep in the middle of a 14 hour driving trip.
Old motel, but hey, its a Red Roof and the price was low. Cheap can still be clean, right?
At least two of our pillow cases had obviously NOT been changed—just turned dirty side down. Disgusting to say the least. Photo attached. Manager offered to change rooms. Woopee.
Did bring new pillow cases. We were already unpacked and ready for bed. Didn’t feel like making the outdoor room change in the pouring rain.
Glad to Get the Room but Paid Too Much
Cabriolisaon 03/09/2017 02:58Rooms in Champaign were obviously at a premium on 8/29/17 and we had not planned for a rooming problem while travelling on a Tuesday. As we had a small dog with us, our call to the number provided online (via cell phone) for reservations for the La Quinta got us a reservationist that told us no rooms were available there but a couple of rooms were still available at their "sister property", Red Roof Inn. Knowing that the prospects of finding a room anywhere at 7:30 p.m. were slim, we said we'd take the deluxe king available. The final charge was FAR TOO MUCH for a Red Roof Inn (where kids and pets stay "free") and we felt we'd been gouged. Check-in was slow even though they should have had all of our info from our called in reservation. The room was quite small but clean and the bed was comfortable, although the pillows were far from deluxe. Wifi was decent. The print-out at check-out did not give a full description of charges for the room (I had to ask for one) nor did it list the amount that was actually charged to our credit card by the online reservationist the night before. The young lady behind at the desk never spoke. We grabbed a couple of cups of watered down coffee and hit the road. Staying at another Red Roof Inn, no matter what the price, is probably not in our future.
Do not stay here.
Senallure Ron 25/08/2017 16:28Upon entering, the room smelled of smoke. That's odd because they tell you not to smoke in the room. The sheets were stained with yellow spots. When I asked for more sheets, I was told to drive all the way around to the office to pick them up. The wash cloths were also stained with yellow spots and there was toothpaste and hair in the sink. The air vents were dusty so when I turned on the air, I started sneezing and my allergies flared up. The pillows are old and in no good condition. I reported these things to one of the office workers and he just said sorry and have a good day. I will NEVER stay at another red roof again. Do not waste your money. It is disgusting.
Not the best experience even for the price
soleil2jourson 18/08/2017 16:31We stayed one night while on a college visit trip. I wasn't expecting much based on the price and just wanted two comfortable, clean beds and a shower after a lot of driving and walking on the trip. We checked in and it was obvious from the start that the room and furnishings had seen their fair share of wear and time, including the beds, pillows and sheets. I had to ask for another pillow as mine were so flat and lifeless. Then I realized you had to ask for a hairdryer. In all fairness, it does state this in the room description. The young man who brought both items to the room was very pleasant but the rest of the staff wasn't very friendly. The next morning we went down for the "continental" breakfast for which there isn't even any seating, just grab and go.
It was muffins they'd taken out of the wrappers to look like bakery, coffee and juice. No fruit. There was only one banana nut muffin left which is what my children like so I asked if the woman could get more. She said that was all there was. We had just stayed at another RRI in Lafayette, IN and they were honest and left the muffins in the wrappers (and had seating, plus fruit and waffles), so I told her I was suprised since they came in wrappers and I was fairly certain they had cases of them in back. She grudgingly got up and went in back and came back with two still in the wrappers. It was barely adequate for the price.
