Economy hotel on US29 south of DC

Just a straightforward no-frills hotel. Clean. Quiet. OK breakfast though area needs expanded to accommodate more than 3 people at a time. Staff pleasant and helpful. Near the highway and some restaurants but far enough that traffic noise not too bad

The booking process was awful. They had trouble figuring out how to book a room for a wedding block. I had to call multiple times to get it squared away. The booking experience was so bad that I tried to find another hotel but they were all full. I had low expectations at check in but my expectations were too high.

When I checked in, they were cleaning the rooms. They swept the trash from the rooms into the hallway. I literally had to step over trash to get to my room. Some of the hotel guests hanging out inside the lobby looked very sketchy. Not a good first impression.

The bed in my room was broken. The headboard looked like someone had spit on it. The remote was missing. The tub was filthy. The toilet paper only had one ply sheet (they did have new roll on top of the toilet) but why would bother putting an empty roll on the toilet paper holder. There was trash underneath the bed and old food in the fridge. Everything was just gross.
I would have walked out but needed a place to sleep in Culpepper.

On a somewhat positive side:
The staff was very nice and tried to be helpful. They fixed the issues I reported. They do need more training on how to book/search for rooms and other basic customer service fundamentals.
The issues reported should never happen.

OMG Avoid this place at all costs!

As other 5 people in one day, my room was cancelled last minute (11:40pm) so when I got there at midnight after many hours driving I had to find another place myself to sleep. Poorly trained staff. Their excuse was that the manager was not there so couldn’t do anything to help. I was told the manager would be there the day after but when I came back to complain same excuse - manager would be there the next day...
After all I’m glad I didn’t get to sleep there given that bad reviews - blood streaks in the rooms? Come on!!! Could have easily be the worst hotel experiences of all, and I’ve been around!!

This hotel is awful - very dirty, Run down and noisy. We should have left. The lady who checked us in was very helpful and pleasant. The shower had good pressure but you would be advised to wear shoes due to the filthy bath. There were used cakes of soap stuck under the shower rail! The sheets seemed clean but the covers were stained and dirty. The floor was sticky and the window sill had at least half an inch of thick black gunk in it. There was leftover food in the fridge from previous guests. Just an all round disgusting place. The breakfast was pathetic - we didn't bother.

the staff was snobbish. the bagels were hard like they had been from past days. the doughnuts were the same way. it was hair in the tub. bed sheets looked brown. I quickly went back down for a refund. please don't waste your time staying here. its nasty. bugs bugs bugs.
