Stayed here for 2 nights in November ,Hotel a bit dated ,but rooms are spacious and clean ,bedding was clean .staff were very pleasant and helpful especially Ann and Artie .The free continental breakfast was good ,fresh juice ,variety of cereals,and white or brown bread .The only negative was we were in room 11 which is near the reception and breakfast bar .we didn't get much sleep the first night because of the noise of returning guests.and a banging door .But the staff were very good and gave us a different room the next day .Better sleep the second night .Thank you .would definitely stay again .

Friendly helpful staff, room clean but very basic. Towels were clean but marked. Biggest issue was the noise as it seems our room was right above the reception/breakfast area so voices, chair moving and general clatter in the early hours did not go down well!!

To begin with, the place proved very easy to find, although our satnav had somehow given up trying to help...
We were very warmly welcome by tip-top, charming, lovely, helpful staff, and pleasantly surprised by the enormous space in the room. The "toiletries provided" are very basic, but not unduly so considering the price paid, but the room was very quiet (although ours was facing the A1 and car park) and comfortable. Our only disappointment was the breakfast facilities (adequate provisions, but space really crammed and squeezed)

We are staying here due to a house move being delayed. First evening here but very happy with both the service and the room. The room is spacious and clean, the service has been great from the lady in reception, very warm and welcoming. A basic and no frills price but good accommodation and service. A really pleasant surprise considering some of the negative reviews that I have read!? Requested a room at the rear due to other reviews and motorway noise (A1) but can't hear a thing considering a main motorway 20 mtrs to the front. A light breakfast included in the price which was a nice a nice touch!
