Dont judge a book by its cover

From the outside this appears the same as all the other motels you pass, however with an easy check in and always space to park we entered our room and were pleasantly surprised! More than equipped enough for us, seperate sink area to bathroom was very handy, great and comfy extremely large bed and sofa and TV to sit and relax, has a fridge to keep drinks cold and location seemed great for us coming and going, we would happily book here again
Great quality and perfect location for a visit to Dodger Stadium

We chose the Regency Inn because it was one of the cheapest options that was close to Dodger Stadium. There is not much going on in the neighborhood, but it served as the perfect place for us to easily drive to after the baseball game. Only a 15-20 minute drive to downtown LA too! The outside of the hotel isn't very appealing but the room was surprisingly big and really nice. I fell in love with how comfortable the bed was and everything was perfectly clean. We had a quiet night with a no noisy neighbors - free parking and wifi was an added bonus. Would definitely recommend for those coming in for a quick stay - especially for baseball fans!
EXTRAORDINARY quality to price ratio...with TREMENDOUS location & access to TOURIST spots!

So what do you get for $120 per night in August in L.A.? In MOST cases, it would either be a crime-ridden flophouse or a marginal property so far away from the action that you would spend 4 hours a day in traffic.
Well, that's why SMART people like you and me use TripAdvisor. I researched deeply into TripAdvisor to find this hidden gem. The rate was so good because:
- This was NOT a Disneyland trip, so I avoided the high prices and traffic chaos associated with the Anaheim area
- The property is INDEPENDENT, so they don't have to pay a licensing fee to one of the big hotel chains.
- There is no swimming pool, so families with kids don't tend to stay here.
- The place doesn't look great from the outside, in fact the exterior of the room doors need to be repainted. Once inside, however, the rooms are BRIGHT, clean, and FIRST-CLASS
- There is no elevator, which is a deal-breaker for some people
This property provides QUICK & speedy ACCESS to:
- The Hollywood sign and the mutli-million dollar homes on that hill
- The Griffith Observatory & Greek Theatre
- Hollywood Blvd. (including the Walk of Fame), Sunset Blvd., & downtown Los Angeles
- Dodger Stadium & Los Angeles Zoo
- Forest Lawn Cemetery, Warner Bros. Studios, & Universal City
- The Hollywood Bowl & Hollywood Hills
Please note that this property is NOT convenient to Disneyland or Anaheim.
The Eagle Rock and neighbouring Glendale area are located on the old Route 66 and feature several one-of-a-kind businesses and restaurants. A nice change from chain store and restaurant overload.
This property, like many in the area, is a motel. This one, however, is more secure as it's a courtyard-type setup, with all rooms accessed ONLY from the inside of the courtyard. The first floor only contains the lobby/office, and all rooms are located on the 2nd or 3rd floor. I never felt unsafe.
This property, however, needs to make one immediate improvement, as the two desk chairs in each room are upholstered on the seat and back. Well, there's a good reason chain hotels don't have upholstery on their desk chairs - when they stain, they're almost impossible (or too expensive) to clean.
In this property's case, the two chairs are stained to the point where they are nothing less than REPULSIVE (see photos). I only sat on them after placing a towel on the seat of the chairs. The motel should throw these chairs in the garbage (I can't imagine any charity would even accept them) and purchase some inexpensive desk chairs without upholstery. This way, spills could simply be wiped clean by the housekeeping staff each day.
Even with the disgusting chairs, this property still gets a 5 star review from me. That's how much quality this motel provides for such a great price.
I'd stay here again, but I won't bring my wife here until those chairs are replaced.
Outstanding Value, Close Enough to Downtown

The Regency Inn doesn't look like much from the road, but the staff are very friendly, and the rooms are spacious and surprisingly nice. The mural on the ceiling was a nice touch... Not kidding. There's a mural on the ceiling of clouds and birds in my room. Don't think I've ever seen that before.
Parking lot was full both nights we stayed, which was a little annoying, but we parked on the street right next to entrance so it was fine.
Good place to have on the list when you want something nice in LA and don't want to spend a fortune.
Will Stay Again

When me and my sister wanted some where to stay, we looked at it online, it was a nice, very clean and big. Looks can be deceiving from the outside, but very beautiful in the inside. We will come back again!
