A night in the hills amidst the vines
UK-family-travelleron 20/11/2017 21:31Difficult to know how lovely this place is as we visited for just one night at the very end of the season. And we missed the right road in, so came up a pretty rough track, discovering the smoother road the next morning on the way out.
The slightly dreary weather didn’t help but the welcome is warm, and the rooms are large and comfortable. Except, except, the soundproofing between our room and the next seemed non-existent as we could hear everything that went on the bathroom. Not ideal. We did mention this and ask if we could move, which apparently we could if we paid more, or ‘they’ll go to sleep later’ was the other response.
They provided a lovely antipasti at 3pm which was kind; dinner in the evening was OK, but reminded us of 1970s English cooking - lots of sauces. Time for a new chef we thought.
The photos in the brochure are amazing in the summer, and the guest reviews reflect this, so maybe we didn’t see it at its best.

Bob Pon 15/11/2017 17:10Tranquility reigns. Quiet. Serene. Most comfortable room and amenities. Terrific meals. Attentive staff. Wonderful views and mild hiking were the main attraction. We were there towards the end of the season so some outdoor facilities - like the pool - were closed. But it didn't matter. We still sat outside and recovered from a three-week adventure in the countryside.
Utterly charming
RCP62on 10/11/2017 20:53We stayed at 5 hotels we really liked in Sicily but this one was the most charming. If you want a peaceful, bucolic, beautiful get-away, this is the place. The road getting there was winding and bumpy, but worth every jolt and turn.

seconomoson 14/10/2017 18:25If you like to experience a "faraway heaven or hideway of idyllic beauty and tranquility", you will find it at Relais Santa Anastasia. Our only regret in staying at this heavenly hotel, it was only for one night!! We cannot wait to return and fully experience the total beauty of this place!!. During our short stay, our total experience was something out of this world!! Staff, accommodations, restaurant, wines, grounds exceeded all expectations of a perfect stay!!. Thank you to the Staff and Relais for giving us this once in a life-time experience to stay in this Shangri-la!
Great winetasting! (with tour and lunch)
Frank von 12/10/2017 15:02During a roadtrip of Sicily we decided lastminute to go to Castelbueno and the night before I contacted Santa Anastasia about the possibilities for a winetasting/tour. The morning afterwards I received the confirmation that this was possible and what the options were. We agreed on a 12:00 start and they arranged tour through the vinery with explanation of their wine making process. Afterwards we had the wine tasting, combined with a lunch which was perfect.
We bought a few bottles to take home and relive our holiday the weeks afterwards.
A lovely place, would recommend to anybody!
