Stayed at this hotel for the weekend in October. Great location by the train station. Staff and management couldn't have been more helpful and friendly. Good breakfast. Room was nice and clean and the bed was comfortable. Only down side was the shower wasn't the best. No power and impossible to get the temperature right. Would definitely recommend and would visit again.

Very comfortable double room above one of the best pubs in Worthing and right opposite the station. Perfect. Glorious Art Deco styled Victorian building with friendly and helpful staff from manager down to the cleaners. We loved our stay and it was very reasonably priced too.

The Good:
Excellent location right next to Worthing Railway Station. Good sized rooms with comfortable beds. Mostly friendly staff. Good on premise pub serving excellent food downstairs.
The Bad:
Clearly tired decor in the hotel in need of refurbishment. Cracked tiles to the bathroom floor and nothing covering the plain glass window in the bathroom?! Absolutely zero water pressure making a shower almost impossible.
The Ugly:
I was prepared to give this place the benefit of the doubt until I spotted a stain on one of the pillows. On further investigation I was horrified to discover it was blood, and a significant amount at that. I'm sorry but this is unforgiveable and whilst a real shame I'm afraid I won't be able to bring myself to stay here again.

I have read the reviews before and I have to say - yes the hotel is old but it is comfortable and has an amazing history to it - just ask some of the old gentlemen that sit at the bar and love to talk about the old days
You cannot fault the staff, from chamber maid to manager and all in between, they were ALL polite and always had a smile.
Breakfast was just amazing and so much. I am allergic to black pepper and when I put a mouthful of fresh cooked mushrooms in my mouth I realised before it was too late black pepper was on them. When I asked the chef if there was black pepper on the mushrooms he said yes and then proceeded to make me some fresh ones without, I did not ask for this at all and insisted they shouldn't but they did. Customer service was brilliant.
Myself and my colleague enjoyed our stay and have said we shall stay again.
Thank you to everyone that works here you are a credit not only to your manager but to yourselves. Keep up the good work guys.

We had zero expectations after reading the reviews. The door into the hotel reception is locked but you only need to walk five yards into the bar and speak to a member of staff and you will be checked in. It's actually a good idea, stopping just anyone from access as its over the road from the train station. The room was clean and the beds extremely comfortable. Yes, there were cracked tiles in the bathroom and yes there was a faint smell from the drains. It was built in 1898 and needs some TLC. The beer was good and the breakfast very good. Friendly staff. Stunning bar area. The pub area is a "proper pub". Would stay again.
