To clarify, we booked through Booking.com, in doing so we got nonsmoking rooms (yes, there are smoking rooms and a smoking area; this is Japan). The smoke are inside the hotel is heavily ventilated and you only smell and feel the musk of the smoke that's about it. (Side note: I'm an asthmatic, and this didn't trigger my asthma). It's right next to two grocery stores, a Lawson, a 7/11 for ATM withdrawals and plenty of other sights. This is definitely one of the fancier hotels I've stayed in and they home up very well to that reputation. Only downside I could really say, is that they have a function every night in the hotel. So it tends to get crowded in the lobby. Two downsides out of the 1,000 positives about the hotel, is not so bad at all.

First of all the hotel rate is superb. The room is in adequate size. Location is at its best. Many convenience stores and restaurants nearby. The hotel offers a free admission ticket to a hot springs facility with a shuttle bus service from the hotel. Highly recommended.

Hotel is close to the center of town and station. Decent restaurants and facilities. Rooms are very basic Japanese style if you are used to American type of rooms you will be sorely disappointed. Comfortable to stay in if you are on a short business trip otherwise the walls will soon start closing in on you!
One redeeming grace is that English language is not an issue which can be very helpful here.

Stay in Atsugi during the 1st week of December 2016, for a business trip. Size of the room correct, good services and good welcoming.
The hotel needs to be refreshed but it's rather correct and clean.
Good localization near the station of Hon-Atsugi. There are plenty of restaurants at all prices (and also some shops).
I will probably use the same hotel for a next business trip.

The Rembrandt is a very dated hotel, located a 10 minutes walk away from the train and the bus stations. Don't expect a fancy, modern and shiny place, more something which feels 80s without any modernization since then. But it's not all bad. The location is good with many restaurants in walking distance, the non-smoking room has been clean and without any smell of smoke, and the bed was very comfortable. What I appreciated a lot was to open the window wide - at least on request, after you promise not to jump, which means you can nicely cool down the stupidly overheated room. Breakfast was ok though not great (there's a Starbucks 5 minutes down the road). If one has to stay in Atsugi the Rembrandt is not the worst place to pick.
