Appears to be newly refurbished. Our king room with sofa was quite comfortable and clean, but the mattress was not to my liking (kind of flat and lumpy) and the shower door appeared to be put on backward. That is, in order to turn it on, one had to step into the far-end of the shower and be sprayed with icy cold water. The sink area was right next to the bed, so you either disturbed the person sleeping, or else, brushed your teeth in the dark. There is a nice little kitchen area. Although we had a balcony, we couldn't open the door out to it. Also, one of the clocks was wrong.
Breakfast was pretty typical for a hotel buffet breakfast. Nothing fancy, but much better than most.
I didn't use the internet, because it wasn't password protected.
The grounds to the hotel are beautiful. My husband commented on how well kept the grounds are. We saw people walking their dogs and it was a very comfortable atmosphere. The staff was very polite. The pool appeared to be still open and there was a small exercise room. Overall, despite the design limitations, the accommodations were very nice.

We stayed here for a short overnight before visiting UNC. We liked the room set up because the sink / vanity area was able to be closed off from the bedroom / living area, so family members could stay sleeping while others got ready.
The breakfast was great - lots of choices and options for healthy eating. The staff was so kind and the chef brought around samples of strawberry smoothie - a definite treat!
The entire staff was friendly and the property was well set up - only wished we could have stayed a little longer.

Don't let the rating fool you- my family and I enjoyed our stay. The room was clean, the property was quaint, and it was central to shopping/ eating. If our check in was pleasant this would have been a four rating!
Check in was unpleasant- left me thinking where is the southern hospitality?! It was an older woman who couldn't be bothered- very unwelcoming. I understand everyone has their bad days but I felt this set the tone for our stay. Luckily all the other aspects of our stay didn't follow suit!

We really enjoyed our four nights here. The hotel is lovely and the rooms are nice sized and clean. The beds are very comfortable. The free breakfast was excellent. Friendly Marriott staff at the desk and during breakfast. This will be our new go-to for Chapel Hill visits!

We stayed here recently for a couple of nights and very pleased. It is located very close to the interstate and about three miles from the downtown area. There are plenty of restaurants and shops nearby. The property itself is very well maintained and everything is very clean. The rooms are very ergonomically efficient and suitable. The breakfast is laid out over a large area which helps avoid feeling crowded. There is a free cocktail hour Monday-Wednesday.
