We have always received a complimentary upgrade. The suites are quite spacious. Full breakfast and cocktail hours are included. Staff is incredibly helpful and friendly.
Location is perfect to walking to a huge selection of restaurants and a short walk to the theatre district.
Valet parking is $29/night

My recent stay at the Residence Inn, Marriott, Cleveland, Downtown was top-notch with but a small flaw, which I will point out after the accolades.
The property is gorgeous, spotless, and so well designed. I truly felt like I was in a Four Seasons hotel.
The staff, for the most part, are superb. Sharon in the dining room was the BEST I have ever met in that arena. She even made sure the eggs and oatmeal were as they should be, rather than the limp and runny dishes most properties serve, using the same ingredients, but not putting in the care.
The cleaning people greeted me and wished me a good day with a smile.
When I went to check out, early Tuesday, November 7th, the staff at the front desk acted like they suffered a devastating blow that I was leaving (after one night)! What efficient and charming people!
I stepped off the elevator, looking for breakfast, and was greeted by the manager, Steve Rudolf, asking me if I were finding everything and then taking me up the the dining room. I understood why this hotel stands out: Management. I felt as if I were an honored guest for whom he had been waiting. The best host imaginable, and he obviously puts that same energy into finding and training great people.
I realize keeping a standard as high as the one Mr. Rudolf maintains in a business full of challenges is non-stop and difficult, so I wanted to let you know two things that need intervention. The people involved, if they are smart, will only grow under Mr. Rudolf's coaching.
When I checked in, on Monday, November 6th at around 5 pm, I was struggling with those gorgeous and massive doors and my luggage. The valet stood inside and watched me. The fellow who checked me in did not make eye contact or show any warmth whatsoever. He was on automatic, and even handed me the information sheet twice. I hope they are both smart enough to learn that being great servers is not only a path to professional success, but is also a lot of fun.
As a service fanatic, who sincerely believes that the person serving is the one who benefits most, I want to thank the Residence Inn, Cleveland Downtown for wowing me with your attitude, the results of your hard work, and your exquisite property! I’ve let my clients in Cleveland know this is a place they can highly recommend. I can hardly wait to return.

We checked in on a Thursday evening and we were greeted by friendly staff members. They asked us if we minded a walk to the other tower which they said was nicer. We said no problem with the walk and went off to find our room. It was a long walk to the room and we had to use two separate elevators to get to our room. The rooms are spacious but the place is old and is not well kept. The bathroom was small and there was mildew in our shower and every time we used the shower the bathroom floor got soaked because of the lousy shower curtain. The beds were so hard I had trouble sleeping and the linens were scratchy. I would not recommend this hotel.

We did a "staycation" in Cleveland a few weeks ago. When we arrived, they'd booked us for a room on the 3rd floor. When we checked out the room, we didn't like it because it felt claustrophobic and too close to the street (it had small windows up high we couldn't see out of, because it was over the front doorway; I think it may be the only one in the hotel like that). We also hadn't realized there was a Cavs game that night nearby. We quickly called the desk to see if they could move us to a room higher up and with a better view, and they said they had a room on the north side, fifth floor. This room (550, I think) was much nicer, with a great window looking out over the street! I really appreciated their switching our room. To get to the north side, we had to go to the second floor and pass through the wonderful arcade (no, this is not a video arcade, but a beautiful old shopping atrium) which we found fun. The windows in the north side rooms are large and the room was comfortable and well-appointed. We valet parked our truck for the night (with a canoe on top). I'd definitely stay here again.

I like the Residence Inn because (1) the rooms are nice, newly renovated and large, (2) they have a decent breakfast and have grill and fried chicken nights so you save on food expense and it’s pretty good and (3) the location is great for access to Cleveland sports and business. You are also just around the corner from the East 4th street entertainment district where you will find great restaurants and the House of Blues. The Q and Progressive Field are very close. Browns stadium is easily walkable. You can walk down the street to the casino if you like. I found the staff to be a little more friendly and available than most Residence Inns. Valet parking is pretty expensive. The common areas on the 2nd and 1st floors are great workspaces too. Prices vary based on what is going on but are generally reasonable.
