Accommodating and Relaxing
acry-artiston 31/10/2017 03:29We were in Columbia for a wedding and it was the weekend of Mizzou's Homecoming Football game. We knew we would have a hard time booking a room and had made reservations months before at an under-construction Marriott hotel that was not finished when our date came around. The Residence Inn worked with us regarding two rooms and a lower rate than typical for that weekend. We had a two bedroom suite and a handicapped accessible room. Overall we were pleased with everything,l however the pull-out sofa bed was uncomfortable, but they provided us with extra blankets to make the mattress better. The handicapped bathroom had a lot of grab bars. One thing that could be improved in that room is they need a full length mirror. There exercise room is available 24 hours...their indoor pool was large and very clean...the breakfast bar offered many choices and they changed the menu daily...they have an attractive outdoor patio area with fire pit and grill. The desk staff and cleaning staff were very pleasant. Our stay was for four nights...long enough to see if there were any problems and there weren't. If we returned to Columbia we would definitely stay there again.
Disappointed again
Gina Von 22/10/2017 04:17We've stayed at the Residence Inn several times before as the city is normally booked during Mizzou football weekends. Our preferences are Marriott and Hilton hotels. Being a football weekend we're paying an amazing amount of money for a two night minimum stay with a 7-day cancellation policy. As we've had in the past, we have a room right next to the highway (I guess someone has to but we always seem to get the short end of the stick). I've mentioned before that the A/C unit blows directly in your face in bed. The breakfast is mediocre to bad we did not even get our room cleaned this weekend. We returned Sat night to the same unmade bed with all wet towels that we left in the morning. There was an amazing amount of cleaning staff on hand as I said good morning to several. Somehow none of them made it to our room. I like Residence Inns and I want to like this one as a Marriott rewards member but it has failed to impress for the third time. It's a shame.
To be fair, it's clean, good water pressure in the shower and nice roomy accommodations.
Nice
Kirby Pon 01/10/2017 06:04Only stayed one night due to business. Only problem was checking in. Had to wait for my room when they knew when I was coming in. Other than that, this is a nice place. Bed was comfortable and room was nice and big. I had 121 which was an end suite. The a/c didn't cool it down to my desired temperature of 65 but it did get down to 67. Overall it is a nice place close to the interstate.
Breakfast breaks out of the typical Marriott RI mold
tom aon 21/09/2017 15:29A comfortable location with friendly staff, outdoor grill and fire pit. Breakfast set-up was exceptional, and improved significantly on brand guidelines for the buffet, without going completely out of the template. Had two kinds of waffle mix (flavor of the day - blueberry - and regular, 4 kinds of syrup to choose from, separate "fixin's" area, cold cuts and cheese slices, fresh spinach, and the best "house" coffee at a Marriott free breakfast. Convenient to University of Missouri. Great local choice with kitchen and room to spare.
Hands down: The greatest
James Son 16/09/2017 18:17Let's face it, there's usually nothing glamorous about checking into yet another hotel for a work trip.
But from the minute you put your bags down st this property you are part of their family.
From the GM down, the staff is not only empowered but encouraged to exceed guests expectations. There is not a single member of the staff that has not been incredible. The leadership at this property sets the tone, the staff plays the song.
It's always immaculate.
The hallways and common areas are always showroom ready.
The service is always fantastic.
If you're traveling through this area, stay here. Always.
If you're going into or are already in the hospitality industry; come here to learn.
