Wonderful staff!

We stayed 3 weeks as part of a relocation package offered by the hiring company. We selected the hotel based on past experiences with Residence Inn. The staff of the hotel are very nice and accomodating and helped us in many different ways. They offer a substantial breakfast and 3 days a week an afternoon cocktail. Sometimes the cocktail was our dinner (ex. German sausages, bread, fixings, fruit), other times they might have a desert tasting (which we enjoyed a lot). The selection varies from week to week.
The hotel is not as up to date as it could be (ex. tired carpets) but the staff and the location (in the Fairfield Commons Mall and surrounded by lots of stores and restaurants) well make up for it.

I've stayed at this hotel three times, each time for a full week. I could have stayed elsewhere in the area, but I'm just so comfortable here, I don't bother looking anywhere else.

First, it's in a shopping mall. So, there are many restaurant options. Even a multiplex movie theatre to pass the time in the evenings. Parking is easy. I like the corner studio suites. Lots of light in one very spacious room with a FULL kitchen. Monday-Wednesday nights, they host a little soiree; cheese and crudité one night, barbeque another night, local pizza a third night. Full hot breakfast every morning.

I pick a hotel that has a Jacuzzi and pool Got here to learn the Jacuzzi has been out of service for weeks. Had planned to swim after dinner (told it would be open) and when I tried to go in it was closed for too many children in the pool earlier that had altered the safety of the pool and it wouldn't be open until morning. Greeted with loud Yapping dog(s). No ice on arrival. Told that guests don't like the ice dropping in the freezer. No ice machines in the building but told I could come down to the desk and get a small bag of ice. The fan in the bathroom (which you cannot turn off without turning off the light) was so loud. Asked for a list of restaurants, told we were near the mall and there were lots of restaurants there. At breakfast had to ask the staff to refresh the coffee, the eggs and the juice.

The hotel has seen better days. Walking down the halls, you can smell carpet that has been over cleaned and stained. Holes in the walls where the luggage carts are parked. Rooms look tired, beds average at best. Asked for extra blankets for the sleeper sofa and they couldn't come up with any. Staff seemed tired and unmotivated. Good location, but not much else to recommend.

I use Marriott properties whenever I can because I have NEVER been disappointed by them.

This was true of this residence inn as well. Although we didn't really take advantage of the their occasional dinner meals the rooms were well kept and clean, the staff was very friendly and helpful, and breakfast was normal for this type of hotel.

All in all the good value that I have come to expect from a residence inn. I would recommend this hotel.
