I stayed at the Marriott Residence Inn on Lake Ontario in Kingston. It was very central, with lovely walking paths, beautiful views of the Harbour and was great value. Rooms include a well equipped kitchen and were clean. Limited hotel bar time, but offer coffee and tea late into the night in the lobby. Easy walk to downtown.

We stayed one night. Check-in staff were excellent, very friendly and efficient. We were allocated a nice big clean room with a great waterfront view; however, the furniture in the room looks tired, the mattress was a little saggy and the pillows (which we assume are feather) a bit lumpy and hard. The room was warm and only in the morning did we find that there is a window which we could have opened. The BIGGEST problem we found, again in the morning, was that the comforter on the bed did not have a cover on it. It was loose between a sheet and the bed cover and became exposed as we moved in the night---very disappointing that guests are sharing a comforter with previous guests.
Breakfast was really good, as was the coffee. The breakfast staff were also friendly and helpful.
Pricing is very reasonable, probably because it being off-season

There was some initial confusion at registration due to a dual reservation. The front desk sorted this and we enjoyed another great stay. The room and facilities are perfect. The staff were friendly, especially once the registration was cleared up.

Came here with family for weekend. Lovely room with all amenities. Will be back to stay here again. It was a cold weekend but in summer the view of lake would be even better and we would take advantage of all the room had to offer, I will recommend this hotel anytime!

WOW! That was our reaction when we first entered our room. WOW! And because it was my husbands birthday I'd actually asked about upgrading but once I walked in the room I phoned the front desk to rave about the beautiful rooms and said that I was glad I didn't pay to upgrade because the room was perfect as is!
The pool is fabulous and it was a treat to discover a sauna in the women's locker room.
The 24/7 coffee/tea station is a wonderful touch! Loved the breakfast as well - lots of choices and everything we had was fresh and tasty. We will recommend this hotel highly!
One downside: On Monday morning I was sitting at the table by the door. My husband had popped out to pick something up. Suddenly the door was opened and I said "Hi Sweet" and then heard "Oh!" and the housekeeper (who I'd just spoken to in the hallway) peeked her head around. I stood up and said "Is the 'do not disturb' sign not on the door?" and she said "Sometimes people forget". I said we'll be staying here until pretty much check out time at noon so I can enjoy the pool and she suggested I let the front desk know. It was 9:15am. More than a little early to just be assuming guests had left. At first I didn't think much of it although I was shocked she didn't at least knock. Then I realized that I wasn't comfortable to leave the room until my husband returned because in addition to our things and my purse, we had 50/50 money in a bucket on the table. We've stayed at plenty of hotels and that has never, ever happened. I ended up calling the front desk because I was disturbed by it and feeling less secure about it being 'our' room. At this point, I'd like to make clear I truly didn't feel she was out to steal anything but I felt it should be brought to managements attention. The manager wasn't around at that time so the lovely lady on the desk put me through to the manager of housekeeping. I told her what had happened and she said that the housekeeper had told her what happened. I restated that I didn't want to get anyone in trouble but staff should be reminded to knock. She said she would use it as a retraining opportunity and also noted that some staff was new. She also said the housekeeper had been told our room was empty (I'd already been at the desk asking about a LATE check out!) or that she'd misheard what the desk told her. I was okay with that because I truly didn't think the woman had bad intentions.
Then I did leave the room before my husband returned and went to the pool area. But while there, I realized that if I hadn't been in the room that a knock wouldn't mean anything - she still would have opened our room door. THAT made me uncomfortable! I don't pretend to know the answer to ensure that this doesn't happen to another guest. But I can tell you that it really needs to be resolved. We completely enjoyed our stay and would love to return another time but I would want to be assured that no one would ever enter our room until we had actually checked out.
The rooms are beautiful and comfortable and the all the staff we dealt with were friendly and helpful!
