We stayed at the Resort Yacht y Golf Club Paraguayo from Dec 21st to Dec 26th. The structure of the resort is considerably old and there were some frequent power outages during our stay. The cable TV also didn't work properly and had to be replaced. The rooms are spacious and the breakfast is very good. Unfortunately, we had a horrible experience during our checkout that soured the whole stay. On Dec 23rd we booked the Christmas Eve dinner on the hotel, costing about US$50 per person (for 3 persons), which was paid in advance with a cashier named Margarita. To our surprise, when trying to checkout, we noticed that they were trying to charge us again for the dinner. Margarita was there and acted as if she had no recollection about our payment at all. The manager Christian was called and was adamant that we would have to pay for the dinner, as there was no record of it being paid, clearly doubting our word. In the end, we had to go back to the room and sort through the trash to find the receipt and finally be able to leave the resort for good. In the end, one of the worst traveling experiences that we had. Be extra careful if you decide to stay at this resort, especially if you have to deal with the cashier Margarita.

nice hotel with great amenities, the golf course is amazing and tough well equipped golf shop and club rental. 14 tennis courts all but one in clay and one synthetic grass. good coaches if needed. Hotel has nice rooms but could use an upgrade. Very clean and hood service. Sunday brunch buffet is nice, artificial beach is nice but river water i didnt dare raw sewage from Asumcion most likely gets dumped in it. Jet ski rental available. A bit far from everythimg especially during the week due to traffic any weekend is fine and no problem circulating. no shopping nearby. Enjoyed my stay ver relaxing and affordable for this type of resort. Golf is free if staying at hotel only caddy amd cart fee required.

The "Yacht y Golf Club" is located on the outskirts of Asunción. Taxis are available but you are probably better off with your own vehicle. Some parts of the hotel have been renovated, other still have that 1980s charm. All in all the place is well kept and clean. Service was friendly and good at all times. Two very nice outdoor pools that can get very crowded on the week-ends. Good & abundant breakfast buffet.
Be aware of the fact that this hotel is right next to the river,
so you should use repellents to avoid mosquito bites.

A nice and comfortable hotel to relax as a destination of its own, but it is out of the way to visit the centre of Asunción. I enjoyed my stay and the view. It was a nice break after a long and busy trip. Great salon! Had a mani/pedi pampering session on site.

I booked my stay online and before I arrived had received numerous email from Jorge Cuella in response to my requests for confirmation and airport shuttle, Jorge was very patient and responsive to my questions. We arrived at 12 midnight and check in was seamless, the hotel has numerous restaurants, one that is open 24 hrs that attracted us to rehydrate ourselves with the large bottles of beer that are common in Paraguay. When I got to my room I noticed I had the wrong black suitcase, apparently misidentified at the airport and not noticed until 2:am. I went to the front desk and Rolando, the night desk clerk immediately called the airport, confirmed my bag was still there and arranged for a cab to take my luggage receipts and copy of passport to the airport ( which is about 25 to 35 minutes from the hotel). Around 3:30 a.m. hotel security brought my bag to my room, and as you can imagine I very pleased was with the wonderful service. We stayed at the hotel on two different occasions, both times getting rooms that overlooked the River through wall to wall windows. The rooms were HUGE with two king beds, large desk, couch, two closets, safe , minibar, great TV with U.S. stations, marble bathroom with spacious walk in shower. The buffet breakfast in the 24 hr. restaurant overlooks the river and was very nice, with made to order omelets, fresh fruit and more things that you would ever want. The grounds are beautiful, we didn't get a chance to swim in the two pools or go down to the sand beach along the river, but if you want a hotel that has it all in one place this is it. The facilities are very well maintained, clean and modern and I couldn't find one thing that wasn't excellent. The staff I dealt with were extremely helpful, friendly, and pleasant. Thanks again Jorge and Rolando. I can't wait to go back!
