What People are saying

Annex rooms

Awful small single beds to annex rooms. Terrible matteresses. I think put in there as it was a Wowcher offer. Nice to be home to own bed! Discounted parking, ended up being £20! Please use Governor car park instead at £10 per 24 hours. Instead of their deal they have going with Pepper Street car park

Sunday lunch

Brettskip on 19/11/2017 14:20

We had a pre booked Sunday lunch here. The service would have made snail pace seem quick. Over 45 mins wait for our starter, which was only soup! Main course was a further 22 minute wait. We didn’t bother with dessert for fear of dying before it arrived. I always try to find the positives in everything, the waiting staff were lovely and very apologetic for the wait. The surrounds were very nice, but the waiting spoilt everything. Not somewhere I’d recommend or ever come to again.

Spent 2 nights here mid week

First impression a lovely hotel reception and public areas quite impressive however once away from these areas the hotel is a little tired. Man on reception very nice and chatty but we couldn't get a word in to say we were Best Western loyalty customers.
Our room a standard double on the third floor was very small and quite dark but had a huge bathroom. No mirror in bedroom although there is a mirrored wall in bathroom but no plug for hairdryer( health and safety I assume)I must point out everything was nice and clean. After unpacking we noticed a leaflet saying you could up grade to a balcony or suite for an extra £30 so off down to reception we went saw a lovely lady who showed us a suite on 1st floor although the bedroom area was still small no mirror again she told us they lend out large mirrors if you need one. We decided this room suited us better as there was a proper seating area and a walk in shower ( the previous room was a shower over the bath and only the bed to sit on ) My husband went to repack our clothes whilst I went back to reception to get new key card and change room number when I asked if they wanted to see my loyalty card I was told no extra charge for the upgrade result 2 happy bunnies. Nice clean room again and lovely fresh towels each day. Fresh milk, still and sparkling water in fridge every day.
There were a few downsides however the extractor fan didn't work in the bathroom we asked if some one would look at it whilst we were out for the day but don't think anyone did. The bathroom smelt very damp and the tiles in the shower were very worn and stained (athletes foot in waiting) the carpet had come away from the gripper rod between the bedroom and hall area we both tripped several times on this. We did mention these problems on check out and the receptionist made a note so I assume these will now have been rectified. Also although the kitchen area was equipped with pots and pans there was no cutlery we didn't need these as we ate out( the Lebenese resteraunt across the road was very good.)
Worth mentioning we would stay again should we ever return to Liverpool as value for money and well placed for sight seeing.

Nice enough hotel

stinky313 on 18/11/2017 22:20

We had a very large room with a balcony, the bed was huge but very, very soft, getting to the room was difficult as you enter small steep and reasonably narrow staircase. I have a disability so this was quite difficult. Staff were efficient however not particularly friendly.

Great hotel in a great location

Stayed here for 5 nights on room only rate, lovely clean hotel in great location, parked in Qpark on Dale Street, less than 5min walk from the hotel for £8 per night with discount card from hotel. Would highly recommend this hotel!!
