Since my last visit, they have closed the pub-style restaurant, keeping open the more formal dining room (where reservations are usually required). This was a last-minute trip and unfortunately the nicer rooms with ocean view were all booked and we ended up with a room facing inland. The bathrooms have been remodeled since my last visit and even with this "inferior" room, we were very pleased. The restaurant was good, but unfortunately not great. We had ordered a good bottle of wine and when the waitress opened it, the cork broke in half and she tried to hide that from us. A taste test proved it was less than satisfactory and the waitress didn't seem to appreciate when we rejected it. The second bottle (of the same Chianti) was much better. The food was only average, unfortunately. And the lobster bisque was watery and without taste (and without any obvious bits of lobster!). The restaurant experience was disappointing, but the hotel and service otherwise was very good. Yes, I/we would certainly give it another chance when next in the area.

Rooms right on the ocean. Clean with coffee in room. Restaurant was great and staff all around was fantastic. Parking is easy. Make sure to kayak when in the area. Would love to stay again. Could read for days on the porch.

staff are very friendly and helpful always smiling .
The food is great we loved the sea food and dessert. Hotel is close to most attractions. Staff will guide you during your journey

The hotel looks quaint by the waterside and has good parking right outside. Check-in was efficient and I was offered a dinner voucher at a reduced price if I took it at check-in. Not quite so good after that as I had to carry my heavy case up stairs to the room. Room was average with a good shower, a little dated though. I had a room overlooking the road, but there are also rooms overlooking the water. Dinner was a bit of disappointment, especially as I paid extra for the local prawn cocktail that was small and not different to any other prawn cocktail.
You can sit outside with a beer, but you have to buy inside and take it outside yourself.
Overall it was an average experience.

Our expectations for this hotel were not met. Yes, it is located right at waters edge and the view is nice but the room (or room) was rather small and the furniture was in need of replacing. The beds were very comfortable. The walkway in front of our room and the one in the rear are so old that we were concerned about their safety. Same with the wooden stairs leading up to the second floor. On the plus side, the front desk staff were very pleasant and the restaurant very nice. With some serious renovations this could be a first class hotel.
