Run-down Facilities amidst Magnificent Surroundings.
We are now having a power failure, so there is no electricity and no water. Can't even take a cold shower or brush our teeth before leaving the apartment.
We are trying not to use the toilet for No.2 cause the flushing cistern may not have water.
They have been trying to fix it for over an hour. So we are still stuck in our apartment, unable to go out, because we are waiting to do our morning routine. Probably the on-site restaurant is not operating as well without the basic utilities.
Last night, I found that both the bathroom sink and the kitchen sink are leaking water onto the floor. Not much but drips on your feet is very annoying.
Ours is a one-bedroom apartment, and the living room and the bedroom each has a huge old fireplace which must have also served as a cooking area in the past.
The apartment is huge but it was so dark, dreary and depressing. It's a big letdown after seeing the outside environment.
The bathroom decoration is one of the worst I have ever seen. There is space, but it is so badly used it feels cramped. The door keeps sliding back on its hinge to hit my back. The bathroom light is at one far corner behind the door that kept hitting my back.
The worst part is that taking a shower is very dangerous because the floor is very very slippery behind the shower door. There is a shower mat that only makes it even more slippery. It got so bad that I had to put a stool which had rubber leg bases in the shower area , and this lean on it to avoid any falls.
This place needs some serious work on its interior decoration.
I do not recommend anybody to stay in this property at all.

The staff was friendly and helpful. The setting is gorgeous. Our apartment was clean but smelled musty on arrival and was in need of some basic upgrades. We enjoyed most of the meals at the restaurant.

We stayed with Friends in September at this beautiful full service Resort and can’t wait to return. Perfect time of year as the olives are just getting picked and the first olive oil press happening. Warm days, cool comfortable sleeping nights.
This Resort is situated in the middle of the Fizzano grape vineyard and olive tress. Breathtaking views, a real “Bella vista” ! Full service from an inviting large swimming pool, restauarnt open for breakfast, lunch and dinners, that are fabulous and created with care by Chef Aldo. Local traditional menu along with an excellent wine pairing menu. Wines also available from their winery at Rocca Della Macie are to dream about. Super Tuscans are award winning and tasting are a must.
The staff is multilingual and exrememtly knowledgeable about the wines. They serve with passion, a smile and always accommodating to your needs.
Hotel staff at front desk and housekeeping were perfect ! The booking correspondence and rooms exceeded our expectations. Jho, Ilaria and Elena were very helpful to our needs, and housekeeping staff did super from laundry to sewing !! Rooms were very comfortable and large! Fully equipped with kitchen and plenty of wine glasses :)
View from our bedroom was simply spectacular.
We look forward to return spring or fall next year and wish the Team all the success ! Thank you for making our stay so wonderful !

Me and my mum had a good stay here. The surroundings are stunning and the pool area is nice. We had dinner in the restaurant, the food was good and the prices totally ok.
The rooms are a bit expensive but to stay one or two nights its ok.

The first time we visited the Riserva di Fizzano was 2001 and we've come back over 6 other times. Our visit this time is no different. Warm friendly service couple with excellent wine and food. The apartments are beautiful restored traditional Tuscan farming village structures, well equipped and well appointed. The associated winery Rocca delle Macie is simply Fanta from their simply elegant and fine Bianco Bianco to start each the meal or the super Tuscans to complement the wonderful filet mignon or lamb chops- again, excellence in all they do without the pretentiousness that some organizations acquire when they continually exceed expectations.
We will be back.
