From our arrival to our departure we received outstanding service from all of the staff. Concierge was especially helpful and gave us suggestions to enhance our stay in Aspen. Hotel finishes and furnishings are top notch.

We are always impressed with any Ritz-Carlton, and the Aspen Highlands is no exception! All of the staff go out of their way to please and accommodate your every wish and need. There is a wonderful workout room and spa, beautiful heated pool and hot tub. All of this is located at the bottom of the ski slopes, right at the lift. We were there for the color/golden aspen and could not have been happier!

Summer or winter Aspen is amazing! There is so many things to do and see. The staff couldn't be nicer and they make everything so easy. The apartments are perfect size and decor. Cant go wrong staying here!

I stayed in the 3 bedroom for one week before moving on to another unit which was 2 bedrooms for another week.
I have never stayed at a Ritz Carlton property. I was blown away by the service. The personal attention given by the concierges - Jillian. JoJo, and others were beyond expectations. The valets service, Levi comes to mind along with others, was personal and efficient. The twice daily maid service put the already great stay over the top. The service around the pool and spa/exercise area is also above expectation. Beyond the fact that the service was so exceptional, it was also personal - the staff knew our names AND they remembered and asked about our activities afterwards.
The Ritz location (in my opinion) is perfect. It is a few miles out of town, it was easy to walk into town on the trails. Aspen was too crowded to stay any closer. The street location was very quite, other roads into and out of Aspen were always busy. There was a "into town" shuttle that was so convenient, we used it most of the time. Even thinking maybe not renting a car next time.
There are two different lodges and we stayed at both. The 3 bedroom was located in the white river lodge. This lodge is the one I would recommend - we had a balcony.
The pool, hot tub, & lobby were so quite and peaceful. The elkhorn lodge was definitely busier, more kids in the pool. In the 2 bedroom, we did not have a balcony, which I missed very much. The only reason to pick Elkhorn (I do not think it is reason enough) is that the cafe, restaurant, bigger exercise area, bigger pool area are located here. BUT the walk is about one minute.
Now about Aspen, it was beautiful and way beyond my expectation. I have been many places in Colorado and feel Aspen is probably the top place. It is just breaktaking in many ways. There are so many activities that are right there, no need to leave (the city or even the Ritz). The hiking, rafting, paddleboarding, gondolas.... - it was all great. Even after two weeks, I did not want to leave.

Ritz Carlton brand gets you excellent service and atmosphere. This particular property seems older, the workout facility in the basement is outdated, unstaffed. Probably because it's summer. Same with the coffee bar, no cashier present. We did eat at the on-site restaurant which was excellent. Rooms are outdated and in need of a facelift, the beds are older and too soft for a long stay. Very conveniently located to the transit system which goes to Aspen and everywhere else.
