What People are saying

Old hotel, good location

Pauliina85 on 17/10/2017 07:14

Building is old and it can be seen, surfaces on room are not from this day, though they are clean except bathroom stinks a bit. Beds are ok. Pool area is not cozy at all, just a concrete floor and sunbeds, and bad music. No plants or anything to make it more comfortable. Not the kind of place one want’s to hang out and relax. The pool is good size but water is so cold that didn’t feel warmer even after a long swim. We had all inclusive. Not worth it. Canteen is like a factory hall, noisy and busy. Food is made large proportions, with no quality. Food keeps you alive but isn’t enjoyment. They don’t know how to cook. There are lots of deep fried food and lots lots of meat and seafood. They use vegetables from freezer. They did’t even know how asparagus is cooked, it was way too soft, slimy and wet (same with broccoli...). So it’s like they have some good ingredients and they manage to cook them all wrong. Only good thing about the food was great sweet fresh oranges, grapes and water melon and cereals& mysli on mornings. Though, many of the fruits were raw or from a tin can. Juices taste like they are made from essence only, they haven’t seen fruits. Coffee is bad. Staff is nice and polite. Hotel is near the beach that has public toilets (that’s handy for whole day at the beach).

All change from 2018

Have stayed here over a number of years, already booked for next summer - but imagine our surprise, our shock, on being told our son couldn't book Continental to join us for several days as hotel now only "dealing with a German agency" from next year........ A reasonably-priced loss for UK customers. Denis McN

Excellent holiday

Stayed here from the 29 August to the 5 September. I really enjoyed the hotel. The food was really good there was always plenty of food on offer. The reception staff where excellent with helping me find my way round. The room was a good size always clean. I found all the staff friendly.

I would definitely return here in the future.

Disapponited

We have just returned from a 10 night stay at this hotel after last staying 8 years ago and nothing has changed. The decor and furniture are exactly the same as they were all those years ago

The pictures of the rooms make them appear large and spacious. There were 2 adults and a 9yr old child and we just about coped. The whole place is the same as it was 8yrs ago. Rumour has its closing over the winter for 're-modelling'. It so desperately needs it. The hotel looks tired. The noise from people in adjacent rooms was unbearable at times, from moving furniture to people talking. Everything could be heard through the floors and paper thin walls. From the outside the balconies look spacious, but when you get to your room you realise that the balcony is actually for 2 rooms with a wall separating them and as such are quite tight, especially with the 2 chairs and small table they provide.

The food......started off really well. The first few days went really well. Plenty of choice all nice and hot. Breakfast was ok. Lots of eggs, beans, fruit, bacon, toast and pastries. No sausages. Only frankfurters. For lunch and dinner, fish, meat, salads. Plenty of fresh fruit. It was all there. Oh yeah and chips. Then it changed. Out of the 10 days, lasagne must have been on about 5 times, 3 or 4 different stews that all tasted the same. Then battered cauliflower and battered broccoli appeared. Why?? Oh yeah, carrots for breakfast. Yes carrots. Who has carrots for breakfast?? Food wasn't changed as regularly and as such became cold. They then for some reason decided to cook everything in salt. And i mean lots of it. Everything they cooked had way to much salt. I couldn't taste the food over the amount of the stuff. The hotel is too small to be all inclusive with hotel options around the corner appearing to be much better. This hotel is a half board at best. Theres no options nearby that could serve as a viable alternative option for the hotel to be bed and breakfast. Theres an endless supply of soft drinks, wine, beer, sangria, fruit juices, water, coffee and certain cocktails. The snack bar was disappointing with very little choice. I remember there being burgers that were cooked to order. None of that.

The staff are brilliant. The maid came round daily and towels were changed every day if you wanted. Bedding was changed every 2-3 days. The bar staff and waiting on staff in the restaurant we really good. Any problems were dealt with swiftly and nothing was ever a problem. We were greeted with a double bed and bunk beds. We asked for the top bunk to be taken off. The receptionist advised us that it would be the following day, which was not a problem. We went out for the evening and when we returned the top bunk had been taken away. Brilliant.

The pool area was clean and tidy and plenty of sunbeds and the pool was perfect if the weather got a little hot, but with the playa de muro beach so near i think alot of people headed there instead, which at €13.75 for 2 sunbeds and a parasol for the day was good value.

Overall, would i return? Probably not. The location is brilliant. But i wouldn't go back just for the location. There are better hotels nearby and for the price we paid i expected more.

Better than expected

I stayed along with a friend and my granddaughter for one week all inclusive in a on bedroom apartment in the annexe part of the hotel.
I found all the staff from reception to dining room to cleaners all helpful, polite and amiable.

The apartment was small but adequate. It had a fridge, kettle and microwave , along with cutlery and crockery. Air conditioning comes at no extra charge. The safe however has to be paid for.

The cleaners replaces towels and bedding three times and made the beds etc every day.

All three of us found the food to be well cooked, well presented and plentiful. Lovely tender roasted meats daily, always a great selection of salads, pasta with a choice of sauces, pickles and fruit. Breakfasts included eggs , bacon and sausages daily, a continental selection and cereals. Always sweet pastries and a large selection of breads.

The beer and wines are on tap all day and evening, as is coffee, tea, fruit juices, slush and cold water. The bar is open all day and evening for anything else you may want.

The pool area is clean and pleasant. There was never a problem finding a lounger.

Sadly the weather let us down, we had clouds, rain and winds daily. The sun only managed to get through for spells in the afternoon. The hotel however was consistently good.
The location was ideal too, a stones throw from shops, bars and the beach. Wonderful.

We all enjoyed our stay and would not hesitate to go back.
