What People are saying

Function with Over night stay

dhosford71 on 20/11/2017 13:37

Rochestown Park is a beautiful hotel with very nice rooms and excellent food standards. I had an awards function there Fri and decided to treat myself and booked in!!!
I was not disappointed and indeed a treat it was.
There was a young lady that greeted us at reception and checked us in promptly. She didn't rush us from the desk even though other couples were checking in also.
She explained the services and spa treatments they had on offer and rang our room to confirm bookings she'd made for us.
That very night on our way to the function room we got lost. Who did we meet only this lovely receptionist who had finished work half an hour ago but still insisted on bringing us to the correct room where our function was.
I checked her name tag that night to thank her and her name was Orlaith Meaney (spelling may not be correct).
Following morning when heading for breakfast she was busy checking people out and she raised her head, said good morning and asked if we had enjoyed our function night previous???
This girl is an example why Irish hotels are doing so well and am very proud at the thought of foreigners visiting our city have the pleasure of meeting the likes of this young lady.
You served your hotel well and I just wanted to thank and commend you for doing so.
I wasn't aware until Orlaith also mentioned that this hotel serves Xmas dinner and are open all thru...
Perhaps I will spend an Xmas dinner there some time with both my daughters as my mum has died recently.
Well done to the Rochestown Park Hotel. Wishing you all a very Merry Christmas and Happy New Year too

Be very careful of your belongings in room

I visited the hotel in August with my family. I left my wedding and eternity ring out of sight in a glasses case whilst I went swimming with my children. When I checked the next day they were gone. There was no 'unauthorised access to my room' according to management ie they know exactly who was in my room. I have had no apology, explanation or compensation from the hotel. I did not mislay my rings. I know exactly where they were. Advise don't go to this hotel and if you do, don't leave anything of value in your submit.

From reception staff bar staff and everyone else thank you. I would recommend this hotel for its wondering amazing staff. Mr Tom Tobin must be so proud of you all. Thanks again from the bottom of our hearts . My nephew John Murphy and his beautiful new wife Ciare Murphy thank you xxxxx

Ghastly anonymous block

We were immediately disappointed upon arrival, as my wife had asked, upon booking, if the hotel could perhaps organise some concert tickets for us. The hotel never answered her email, and the receptionist coldly informed that they do not provide this kind of service. By the way, the reception desk is behind a tall counter, makes you feel really little when addressing the reception staff.
There was a wedding reception just beginning as we arrived, so the place was buzzing with all sorts of people. That was OK really, the noise did not get as far as the room.
Room itself was spacious, bathroom nothing special.
We refused to try any of the food possibilities.
We had a morning go at the SPA, the pool was full of children and also someone expecting to train for the Olympic games splashing energetically back and forth. The young lady inside the steam bath rudely told us to close the door no sooner had we opened it to get in!
On checking out we wanted to pay cash, but the receptionist had no change, yet the bill was close to 400€ (and that was for just 2 nights!!!). Hard to believe such a gigantic structure has no change.

There's plenty of better places to stay close by...

Shocking Experience

Anne O on 09/11/2017 00:58

Had a late lunch in the bar on Sunday. Ordered the hot chicken and bacon salad. The lardons of bacon were very fat. I do not eat fat meat so I had to try and avoid the bacon. The salad potatoes were halved but not fried so very bland. The salad was bland and totally uninteresting. The service was exceptionally poor with 1 waitress serving all the tables but when I went to the counter to pay, there was 6 staff around and they all ignored me until after about 5 minutes the girl who had served me came and gave me the bill.
Very disappointing.
