Lovely home and terrific owners!
Deb don 30/10/2017 20:13We stayed here this past weekend (October 27-30) and the home was just lovely. Frank and Rochelle were wonderful owners and simply couldn't have been nicer, and we had the pleasure of meeting Ms. Sarah (Frank's mother) who told us of the history of the property. We were in the Blakemore room and it was fantastic! Very large with a large private bath. The robes and the sheets were extremely high quality (I am in fact ordering two robes from that company for my home).
For those who are complaining about the cancellation policy, it is important to remember that a small bed and breakfast cannot simply rebook the way that large chain hotels do. This is their livelihood and while circumstances arise last minute, that burden shouldn't necessarily rest with the owners.
Beautiful historic mansion in the rolling hills of Virginia
wdm01on 06/10/2017 21:12My wife and I stayed last night and were truly blessed. Sarah (the owner) is a very gracious hostess that shared a wonderful breakfast with us. She also shared her heritage and was not shy about to whom she gives thanks. Come stay with her and find out some of our country's best heritage.

alhsgirlon 30/09/2017 03:50Room was nice but I ran out of hot water one morning while showering. Breakfast was good but nothing special.
The 10 day cancellation policy is a problem. There is no flexibility or consideration given to unforeseen circumstances such as weather related issues. One person in our group could not attend due to Hurricane Irma. She was not given a refund nor a credit for another weekend's stay even though her room was rented to another guest one of the nights she was charged.
I will not be staying at this B&B again.
Great home, great people!
cjp1967on 23/09/2017 00:25Our room was beautiful. King size bed with a huge onsuite with large soaker tub and separate shower. The bed was really comfortable....and had beautiful high quality sheets on it....heaven! Breakfast was great...but the best part was Miss Sarah, the homeowner. She was there in the evening to make sure everything was good, and joined us for breakfast. Great conversations...great people. Don't hesitate to stay there!
Beautiful Historic House
Evelyn Hon 11/09/2017 00:16Pros: Beautiful house, well-appointed rooms with comfortable beds, ample space to stretch out, free wifi, very good, nicely presented breakfasts.
Cons: Compared to other B&Bs that I have stayed in, I was surprised that there was not daily "freshening" of rooms, including bathrooms, not even in the bathroom that was shared by strangers. Also, surprised that second floor coffee pot wasn't cleaned and prepared daily for use.
Final comments:
I was there with a party of 5 very good friends (50+ years) and, other than the few unexpected issues noted above, we thoroughly enjoyed our weekend and time together. Two unpleasant warnings: 1. As noted by others, do not expect ANY consideration for unexpected cancellations, including once in a lifetime severe hurricane warnings, even though the B&B was NOT close to being full. 2. Don't be surprised if private visits and conversations are interrupted by owner family member commandeering your time for unsolicited history lessons.
