It was in a fantastic location and even though there are reviews about bed bugs here I believe that issues has now been resolved as I seen no bed bugs in my room that I got, the staff were pretty nice to me and had no hesitation helping me out with directions to somewhere. Just be warned when you book here for the breakfast it’s only coffee and Dutch pastries and muffins, so as long as don’t mind the small breakfast, this is a good place for you

Went without a car. Stayed 3 days, had 1 day somewhere else and then checked in and back out for 1 additional day. First room was perfect, last room the wallpaper needed replacing, but other than that, good stay. First room was on the top floor, second on the bottom floor which we requested because of carrying luggage and no elevator. Walking distance to the aquarium but it is quite a walk, can seem long after all day of walking, a little over 1 mile. Free passport bus is listed as stopping at the bus stop right near the room on the Long Beach transit website, but never stopped any of the times listed there, it does pick up from aquarium though to go to the Queen Mary and other locations downtown. Friendly staff, they helped us carry our luggage up the stairs the first day. Breakfast is packaged muffins/pastry and granola bars. Vons grocery store is really close. Has better price compared to a lot of the hotels right in the downtown area.

The Rodeway Inn is more of a motel than a hotel but its in a great location and we had a really good stay here. Breakfast is basic but helped set us up for the day and rooms were kept clean. Staff were helpful and we had a great time here in Long Beach. It suited us just fine!

The Rodeway Inn was pleasant surprise in Downtown Long Beach. I has a great location and the room we had was redone and very nice. Aside from some oddly stained sheets on the bed, the room was very clean including the bathroom.
Parking can get tight if it's busy. We preferred to leave the car at the hotel in the evening and Uber to dinner if we weren't walking.
We would definitely stay here again.

When we checked in, we noticed a red smear (from fingers) across the back of the bathroom door by the door knob. We also noticed that the sink was not draining. We had to unscrew the drain cap to let the water down.
We walked to the front desk and reported the situation, hoping not to be blamed for the issues with the room and to see what can be done to remedy the situation. Not many options were presented to us. Because we had a small 5-year old in the room with us, someone came up with disinfectant which lightened the color of the blood but didn't erase it. He told us that "at least it was disinfected", like that would be a consolation for having blood on our door. The sink was not fixed that first day. We had to keep the drain cap off and risk dropping things in the sink, especially with my 5 year old.
When we asked about what can be done, we were told "both items we were told were noted in the system, and that we may speak to a manager about it later."
Upon checkout on the 3rd day, we didn't get a manager to speak to. Rather, we got a card with the management's email on it. We were told that the blood on the door was paint, and that the drain just needed to be shifted into place for the cap to work and let the water drain (as if both were our problems).
We check into hotels expecting to have a working and clean room, which this was not, and somehow the staff thought that would be acceptable. At no point were we offered another room or some kind of compensation for the room not being up to standards.
I will never recommend this hotel chain because of this experience.
