This is my second stay in the hotel and i have tried many hotels in Accra. It is very central and walking distance from the commercial shops, restaurants and pubs. The room is clean and very good, staff is always helping and providing an amazing service. The best hotel i have stayed in around Osu. Breakfast and lunch led by Rabih. A must do for a stay in Accra.

The entire staff is stellar From Chefi Rabi, the manager ( Happy Birthday), his amazingly talented wife! Thank you Godwin for taking such wonderful care of me locating both a local post office and grilled goat stand!!! To the security guards who were attentive to everything and very polite! Alfred a wonderful conversationalist!
I was actually referred to Roots by the front desk man at La Villa when they didn't have vacancies for the nights I requested. My colleague stayed at La Villa and both of us disliked the owner of La Villa and how he treats his staff.
I truly can't thank you all enough. Housekeeping, Esuro staff, breakfast staff... just wow. The only problem I had was the AC in rm 101 was not operating properly making for a few restless nights. However, the manager ensured a pleasant stay with repairs and a comped meal.

I look forward to my next stay for my experience with all staff! Customer service take precedence over glamour. I stayed at Labadi Beach Hotel too and would still choose Roots first!
Another plus is Osu is a very happening side of town! Lots to do and no need to travel all the way to Arts Center for great gift purchases, just walk through the neighborhood. Very safe! Even at night!!!
As a supporter of local artists the hotel also hosts a Sip and Strokes kind of event. Thats quite impressive! You real have to give it to em. And if you happen to speak even the smallest Arabic the owners and relatives are happy to engage. I felt right at home.
If your stay is extended visit the tailor next door have something nice made for your family, friends or yourself. Tip your service providers, its the right thing to do. Taxis come and go through the neighborhood frequently throughout the day and night. Uber is available as well.
The only thing I think should be added to Roots is postcards for sale.

Spent a few days this week in Accra at Roots. Extremely nice people, well appointed and very clean room. Very pleased with the accommodations. Really good restaurant on the 7th floor for breakfast and a wonderful roof top bar with a terrific breeze at night.
Close to Oxford Street. Good choice.

Although the hotel was quite pricey. I’d say it was definitely worth it. The staff were very friendly and welcoming and the facilities were clean and well kept. The room was spacious and adequately provided. My last star will however be for the food as I wasn’t particularly impressed by the breakfast options provided.
I’d stay there again though..

The place had a lot of potential, being a regular there since more than 3 years, but i have to state that the Hygiene and the cleanliness of the place is becoming a big issue !!
the sent when you go to the kitchen is nothing like you have smelled before, and the crockery and cutlery are even worst!!
if it is meant to be a studio please make sure that the place can at least be good to cook or even prepare coffee in !!
as for the Breakfast... wowwww... the smell was so bad, that we have opted to stay under the direct sun heat, the tables were dirty and the buffet is not appealing....
Too bad for a place to go that bad in a short period, i know that the management should enhance their training on those elements...
Roots was a place i visited frequently but now i am not too sure!!!
