What People are saying

Short stay

I actually stayed a number of years ago but TripAdvisor won't let me go that far back. But I really wanted to write a review about this place. I absolutely loved it here. I only encountered one member of staff, he was there when we turned up about 12:30am after getting lost trying to find our way there. He gave us loads of information about what we could do in the city (mainly me by myself as my friend whom I was staying with was going to be at an audition in LIPA all day so I had the day to myself to explore Liverpool. He gave me a map and pointed out all the places I should go (I'm a massive Beatles fan) and told me all the best routes so I could make the most of my day. He then gave us a menu so we could tick what we wanted for break fast and what time we would want it and he would bring it up to our room the next morning. Perfect. One less thing for my friend to worry about when psyching herself up for her audition where to find breakfast! The room was nice and clean, had everything we would need and a massive bathroom. I think I remember it being a little noisy outside the window but I sleep through anything so it didn't bother me in the slightest! We were up early and the breakfast was brought to our door on time, we got ready to go but I was then carrying both mine and my friend's suitcase down stairs after she had left for her audition and I had to check out. The gentleman helped me carry the bags and let me leave them there until we were ready to go home at the end of the day. All in all the best place I have ever stayed in. I was so happy with the service and the room. And Liverpool is my favourite city so it was just the cherry on top of a brilliant trip. I am thinking of heading back in the summer, will definitely look up this place again.

Lovely Georgian property

Stayed one night in a twin bed room. The room was enormous with plenty of storage should you need it. The beds were clean and comfortable. The toilet and shower were also sufficient for use with two bath and two clean towels.
We only booked room only so cannot comment on breakfast.
The hotel is just a short walk - about 7 mins to the town centre.
The reception staff very friendly.
No complaints. Would probably stay again should the need arise.

Convenient, comfortable and well priced

Stayed at Roscoe House for 4 nights in October.
Pressed the doorbell a few times, but was greeted by a polite and welcoming lady who welcomed me in.
She was obviously busy checking some other guests in.
My room was not ready as I had arrived before the check in time, but I was able to leave my bags there.
I returned later to Check in and was lead outside, down some stairs to the basement. So my comments will be regarding this portion of the accommodation. My first instincts was oh my gosh what've I gotten myself into as I usually stay in chain hotels. I was lead Underground through the stoney underground passage where there are two rooms and a few storage/utility areas.
The room:
Bed was comfortable, room was neat and tidy. Room was very spacious with dresser, some bedside tables and a lounge. The heater wasn't turned on so I had to move a bookshelf to get some heat, no drama.
Bathroom was modern and spacious.
Shower lacked pressure and made it almost impossible to wash hair as the pressure was barely enough to wet your hair. Removing the shower from the holder aids this slightly.

Location: easy walking distance to Main Street/mall.
Overall would stay here again.

+: clean, neat, cheap, comfortable bed, modern bathroom, private access via a code to get into basement area, friendly staff, location

-: basement has a weird feel to it. Storage room next door staff were using at 4am which woke me up a few times, shower

Fantastic little gem!

Myself and my partner stayed here over night when on a night out with friends, this was a fantastic hotel in a great location. We paid just under £50 for the evening and for a hotel in the city centre on a weekend this was very reasonable! The member of staff who greeted us was friendly and had a lot of personality. On entering our room (top floor) we were pleasantly surprised, the room was not only spacious but also contained a kitchen and dinning table. The facilities were great. We will be staying here again on any other nights out in town.

Safe and Friendly Shabby Chic Stay

Overall we were pleased with our stay. The staff were ultra friendly and helpful which counts for a lot in my opinion. Parking is unclear on the website and I was unable to call them after 2 number searches on Google. Parking could be arranged for a £10 fee. Room was grand in style and proportion but lacked the bath robes and toiletries that should have been included. Alright, fine, not bad. Would we go again? Only if we had to. Amenities and location good.
