Made to feel very welcome. Room clean and the bed was comfortable and had a mattress cover which many don't.The furnishings are basic but fine. I liked having the fridge and microwave to hand. My fridge was quiet and did not disturb my sleep.
Had a lovely poached egg breakfast. For the money excellent value.
Honestly, this place is a dump

I was taken to the place across the street, because apparently the main building was fully booked. The next day the owners explained it was all a misunderstanding, but it was too late before they realized it to move me back. TBH, I was a bit suspicious about it, but maybe my suspicions are unjustified. Anyway, the room I ended up in was no better than a broom closet, with the window facing the backyard and the garbage bins. The toiletry supplies were limited to one bottle of hand soap on the wash basin. Worst of all, the room contained a very big and very old refrigerator which was dreadfully noisy (I slept with my earplugs and I could still hear it). The owners were friendly and the breakfast was big. Summing up, if you are looking for the cheapest place to stay in Peterborough's centre, that's probably it, but otherwise I wouldn't recommend it.
Lovely stay

Stayed here over the weekenf for a family event. Was very quiet in the area. Lovely room. Big bed. Owners were very hospitable and friendly. Huge breakfast in the morning. Well worth the spend. Not very expensive at all. Would reccommend.
Not for us, by a long shot!

To be honest we stayed at this B&B as a last resort, as all others hotels and B&B's had been fully booked, due to the horse trials events on in the area. I felt trepidation even before we arrived. Some of the reviews were scary. Lots were average to good. I did however, take comfort by the fairly good reviews I had read, for their cooked breakfast. The owner is a jolly, affable Irish man. I had booked twin beds, but none were available when we arrived. We had to share a double, overlooking a main road. On entering the room, it stank of body sweat. The window was already open, so as to air the room. It did not succeed. The room, the decor, the old worn furniture, the carpet, was well past due renewal. The pokey, boxed bath room in the room was dirty, cramped and awful. The bed was disgraceful and needed to be thrown on a tip. I would not let a visitor to my home, sleep on a bed like that one. My traveling companion and I hardly slept a wink all night. It was torture; springs that dug into one's body, no matter which way you slept. We had to cover the pillows with towels, as they were filthy, even though they had the most flimsiest pillow cases on. The night was spent dozing on and off and dawn could not come soon enough. As soon as; we got up and went for a walk to the Cathedral. I would not wash or shower in that place for love or money. When we got back, we were was in a better frame of mind and looking for the much praised breakfast. This too was a disappointment, big time. Yes, good portions and variety, but overcooked and dry. The reception area and breakfast room is cramped and dingy. In fact, when the B&B is full, you are allocated a time slot to eat. After breakfast, we returned to the room and found the bed had been already stripped. Or more to the point, the sheets had been removed with the duvet at the bottom of the bed resting on the dirty floor. The carpet has to be at least 25 years old. I feel sorry for the next unsuspecting guest. They seem to only change the sheets. The covers on the duvet are kept on, for goodness knows how long. I thought hard and long, before I wrote this review, because the host and staff were so friendly. However, I will not be staying here ever again. I found the place vile. The fact is the overrated breakfast cost us £51; I would not pay a penny to stay in that room. I could not wait to get back home and indeed, went straight to bed, then slept for eight straight hours.
Great little guest house

Just spent two nights at this great little guest house. Beds were comfy and pristine white sheets. Loads of coffee and tea making facilities. Proprietor was friendly and cooked me a lovely breakfast that kept me going for the day. Ideal location for waiting for Passport Office and wonderful Cathedral within walking distance. Well done you....
