What People are saying

For people how likes all inclusive resorts

Crartdirector on 09/11/2017 18:04

The resort is huge, with a lot of local people, with the all you cam drink most of the colombian tourists are completely drunk in the afternoon, the room was ok but very far away from the beach, restaurants and reception, i need to say, food was excellent, buffet really good and organized, the fish restaurant was amazing. And the staff veryyyyy friendly. Native people from Baru works there, and they are very proffesional and kind.

Bad. NOT an all-inclusive resort by any stretch.

I have been to all inclusive resorts and unfortunately this one was pretty awful, compared to others. Here's a few things that need LOTS of work:

- When you get there, there is a massive line of folks waiting to check in. You just have to sit around and do nothing, sometimes for hours, until you can check in. This is ridiculous. It feels like you are waiting to get your boarding pass at an airport.

- Finally when you can check in, you get in a golf cart and get taken to your room and dropped off. The rooms are really really far away from the main attraction areas such as the pool and the beach.

- No communication. When you get to your room there is nobody telling you anything, such as where or how to use the internet, how to use the A/C, where things are, how to book the restaurants, anything.

- So here's some of the things that got a FAIL in my book: THERE IS NO INTERNET, and they do not tell you that ANYWHERE. huge disappointment. To get wifi, you must go to the reception, and PAY an hourly rate to use the wifi and you must stay close to the reception where the wifi router is.

- Dinner is just a total scam: there are 3 restaurants there, and to get into any of the restaurants, you must wake up at 7:45 in the morning on your "vacation" and walk to the reception and stand in line and wait to get a ticket, like a meat counter. You are competing with hundreds of other people there. Once you get your ticket you have to wait around next to the ladies booking the restaurants because they call your number verbally so you can't even go eat breakfast. Eventually your number gets called and then they tell you which time slots are open at which restaurant. Of course you probably won't get into the one you wanted because somebody else probably got in line at 7:59 or something and beat you.

- That's just the beginning though because here's the real kicker: your first day there IT IS NOT POSSIBLE TO EAT AT ANY OF THE RESTAURANTS, because they were already booked that morning before you got to the hotel. So if you get to Decameron at noon, you have to eat the buffet. You can't get into any of the restaurants. Very bad.

- The food at the restaurants is pretty bad anyways unfortuntely, so the buffet isn't really that much worse. The one we went to smelled like they had a kitchen fire right before we got there and the italian food was basically latin food. Risotto is not rice, people. And manicotti is not enchiladas. The ravioli for sure was previously frozen.

- The bars serve typically weak drinks but my main concern is that they won't even give you a freaking BOTTLE OF WATER... SERIOUSLY? A resort won't even give you a water. But you can get a pina colada... ok.... You can only get one tiny cup of water at a time.

- The area where you kayak or paddleboard is very tiny, it's like a joke. You're kayaking around in a roped-off part of the beach that is so small it feels like a kiddie pool. Only the kiddie pool is full of polluted waters that are white with trash and fuel from the pontoon boat that is also going around in that tiny area.

- It's really confusing trying to figure out where things are. Signs could be much better.

Ultimately everything at this resort makes you feel like you are in daycare. You're very limited and everything is underwhelming and controlled. There are many things here which are for an extra charge so you feel they're still nickel and diming you. You don't have a lot of freedom or amenities. This place is not worth the price at all. I was actually glad to leave which is a bad sign.

Relax and enjoy!

I was there for a holiday with my in laws, my mother, hubby and 1yo baby.
We were given rooms in the upper floor of one of the buildings (3levels) but there are no lifts. We asked to be changed and they were able to accomodate us next day as they had no more rooms available on the day of our arrival.
It is a beautiful property with all you need for a relaxing couple of days.
Pools were very enjoyable and clean.
There is food at all times, you will never go hungry. You can also make reservations for their specialty restaurants, make sure you are lining up early otherwise you won’t get a spot, the Italian was the best in my opinion.
Overall a good experience, some aspects could be enhanced (quality of the liquor offered, better system to reserve the specialty restaurants)

The Cameron Baru Hotel.

This is a beautiful hotel in the department of Bolivar, in Colombia, with a excellent tropical style in a island,it's very hot in the day, there have white sand beach is perfect for resting and practic diferent water sport.

the hotel has different type rooms with different prices, for example standar is a small rooms, superior and deluxe are big rooms, there is a big TV in the rooms, there is a small refrigerator in the rooms with cold drinks, there are pillow very confortable and beds excellent, the rooms have air conditionig, there is a small safe box in the rooms, there are four restaurant, five bars and a nightclub, the parties in the at nigth are nice for all family, there is a big spa to relax.

there aren't water bikes service and motorboats - you pay for those, there isn't café or shop of sportswear in the hotel, there isn't soccer field or basketball, there isn't a hospital near.

I recommend Cameron Baru Hotel because it is a place very interesting and the people are very friendly.
