What People are saying
Excellent Customer Service!!

I have been to the RDC over 20 times in the past 10 years. I have never felt it necessary to write a review as I feel most questions are redundant, and are answered over and over again. I obviously love the place and the staff, so that is not what this review is about.
On my last trip, due to an incident that had absolutely NOTHING to do with the hotel, I had to deal with customer relations quite a bit, which was a first for me, as I've never required their assistance before
I cannot say enough about how well the situation was handled by them. They went over and above anything I would have ever expected. Alberto was a true professional, and I love the place even more, if that's possible. Thanks Alberto, and all of the people in costumer relations for all of your assistance!! I look forward to many, many more visits in the future!
Very nice resort

We had a great 2 weeks here this month. Resort is authentically Mexican, low rise and open air. The beach is stunning, lots of lounges & palapa. Spotlessly clean and you can walk for miles. Didn’t see any garbage at all. Food was varied & you can always find something good to eat. We stayed in block 5 and used the adult pool. It was great. Rooms were always clean and beds were comfy. My only suggestion is upgraded sun loungers. They are extremely uncomfortable. The workers were friendly & service was great. Yes their English is limited but we could always understand them & they us. Guess what teresabusybee it’s México! It would be like coming to Canada and complaining we don’t speak Mexican.
Don’t hesitate to try this resort. Tourists like teresabusybee should just stay home or pay more and go to a 5 star. Good job Royal Decameron!
Amazing week even with a few surprises

All trip advisor reviews needs to be taken with a grain of salt. Some people are never happy. But as an easy going couple we had an amazing time.
The royal Decameron was the first all inclusive I have been to where locals actually go to it. The population was about 50% Mexican and the rest of the guests are mostly Canadian. It was nice to have such an array of people. EVERYONE we encountered was so nice. The staff were so polite and accommodating.
We had a room mix up that was fixed quickly. I did my research upon booking and knew that block 5 and 6 were quieter so I requested our room there. The other blocks are around the hub of the resort and are noisier because of activities and weddings. The only building with an elevator is building three, other wise you have to take the stairs but there are only four floors max.
Unfortunately we got to experience both the doctor and the first aid services. One for a sting ray bite ( watch for the white flags at the beach indicating sting rays and jelly fish) and one cause of bad luck. In both instances the people who helped were amazing. We both were attended to professionally. As a note it is 60 American to see the doctor.
As for the food and drinks everything was good. People complain about the a la carte system which I admit could be stream lined a bit. But reservations weren’t hard to get at all. We had a la carte 5 of the 6 dinners. We only didn’t get a reservation one night and we always made them between 8-10 am. We never lined up early and always found something. So as long as you are flexible you will find something. There is a 6,630,8,and 830 sitting. The only one that is air conditioned is piccolo the Italian so the late night resos were our go to as it cooled down a bit by then.
We loved the fresh made to order omelettes and the snack bars with the burgers and guacamole. So tasty!!
Drinks were great and the activity pool was super fun! The activity staff were so kind and great people to be around. Pool one is the activity pool and it was a little murky by the end of the day but it was the busiest pool so it made sense. Every night the staff cleaned the pools and the chairs. They even closed pool one for an extra cleaning at the end of the week to get it ready for the next group. No biggy as there are 5 pools to choose from.
All in all a great trip and fantastic value. We will be back!!
Dirty beach, stingray attacks, no pads on loungers, most staff have limited english, dirty pools/pool area

Our room and cleaner were amazing and she kept it spotless, that i am afraid is as far as the praise goes, the adult pool by 3pm had a thick layer of scum on the water, the pool areas were grubby. The beach was a no go , full of shale and dirty plastic and metal cans etc on the beach. All sun loungers had no pads on so you could not lie on them in comfort, the staff could not help with any issues as they had very little if any english, when we asked a question they sat looking at us as if we were from another planet. , if this resort did not have its a la carte restaurants which you had to queue up to book, people were queing at 6am! Booking started at 8! it would be a 2 star! The tropical buffet food was abysmal, I said good morning to every member of staff I passed for the whole 13 nights and maybe got a grunt or total silence! Awful place, the beach is public so if you do go down there you are plagued by beach vendors all day relentlessly, our first and LAST visit there, awful place
Still a great resort

We spent the first week of November at the Royal Decameron and were completely happy with our stay. We have been to this resort half a dozen times in the last 10-15 years and will return here again. All staff friendly and accommodating especially Daniel and Francesco in Block 4 buffet. Needed to move rooms after a couple of days because of a mobility issue with my husband and request was granted within a couple of hours for us as well as my sister and husband as well so we could remain in same block together. FYI Block 3 has an elevator and is very central to most everything. Only downside is if you do not take in the nightly shows you can hear them in your room quite loudly. Took in a couple of shows and they were good. Not crazy about the audience participation nights so we skipped them and enjoyed the Oceanside pool bar lounge and red lounge instead. Yes The beds and pillows are quite firm, loungers hard, no fridge in room but we knew all of that booking this trip and were fine with that. You can buy a blow up air mattress at little store in Block 4 or by red lounge for Approximately 7.00 U.S. Italian a la carte was great, would highly recommend. Food pretty repetitive in buffet but always found things we liked. Lots of fresh fruit and fantastic bread and pastries. Not a 5 star resort and that is why you do usually get a pretty good deal booking this resort.
