We were a group of 11 girls - six staying in the Premier Rooms and 5 staying in the cottage. All accommodation was spotless and well equipped. We had the three course meal deal which was very tasty and good value at £23.50 each. The service was brilliant and we were well looked after by all the staff. The breakfast the next day was also very good. If you want a nice break away in a very well run establishment then try the Royal Oak. A special thank you to Rachel, Kyle and Jan for making our stay so memorable.

Very clean room. With all our needs catered for . The bed was very comfortable and we both slept really well on a quiet Tuesday evening. We recommend the meal deal on a Tuesday night. Two classic burgers with chips and salad and a bottle of wine £29.50, totally delicious and the breakfast was also delicious. The surrounding area is lovely for a nice walk. Thank you to the staff who were professional and polite .

A real gem of a place, exceptional large and high specification on our premier room, at a very good rate of £79 for B&B. In fact it was more like a suite, with modern boutique style furnishings, complete with robes, and a Teddy Bear! Linen was immaculate, which i discovered was taken care of in house so compliments to housekeeping! We took our evening meal in the bar by a great roaring fire, compliments to the chef, quality of food was quite outstanding, and likewise, breakfast was the same. Delightful stay.

Got there and were very happy with our room no 3. Large room. Clean and tidy. Bed and pillows very nice. Shower excellent.
Local ales ok. 3 course evening meal including in our overnight stay. Went well with the first 2 courses. Then no one bothered to ask if we wanted desert? We had to ask. Staff seemed to lose interest in the customer at the end of their meals. Not just us but all in the pub! Enjoyed our stay. Breakfast was very good. May go back. Need to think about it.

Very nice place to stay , food great , rooms very nice staff very friendly and helpful , ideal for a short getaway Thankyou for making our stay welcoming , oh it’s also got ample parking at the front , and ideally situated with a 5 minute walk to Appleby town , and also great
