What People are saying

Stunning location but we felt they relied on the location for their reputation

We stayed here for my husband's birthday. We stayed for two nights as a special treat. Leaving our daughter with her grandparents we were very excited for our relaxing break and opportunity to recharge. We couldn't complain about the relaxation aspect of the hotel. Room was slightly dated - although large. We were in a suite. Stunning buildings, gardens and view was spectacular. Water was beautiful and warm. Very relaxing surrounds and comfy sunbeds. Our only issue was that we felt customer service was lacking. Not in the restaurant area more the front of house. Upon arrival we had to make our own way in (although one of the gardeners kindly offered to take our suitcases) and then the reception gentleman ran through everything without the hint of a smile in a very military fashion. Not showing us where to get towels or how anything worked. We were then sat down with a glass of cava and not sure what we were to do next. We then went back to reception and were met with the same gentleman who was then quite rude to a cleaner who half heartedly showed us to our room after we asked to be taken there. He wasn't a great first impression. The hotel food was delicious. Although if you are after a hotel with atmosphere and noise/music - this is not for you as it was extremely quiet and my husband and I found ourselves whisphering at breakfast a few times. We had a mishap with a taxi order also where we were again left to our own devices and someone took our taxi and another front of house person was very non plussed and took no responsibility. When we checked out the receptionist didn't even ask how our stay was or thank us which my husband found very rude. We have never once had this at a hotel. The extremely personable manager then approached us a few hours later and asked us how everything was (somone had obviously told him about the issue the night before) and offered us lunch free of charge after my husband explained the disappointment in lack of customer service. On a positive note it was a very relaxing hotel and the massage was amazing with a very friendly therapist. Manwel in the restaurant was a breath of fresh air and could not do enough for us. Beds were really comfy and the grounds were just stunning. You can also go to the sister hotel 200 metres down the road for breakfast and use the facilities. The beach is only a quick walk away and although busy the water was beautiful and we were very lucky with the weather. Not much happening in the town but they can offer some suggestions for nearby restaurants and we loved the Italian restaurant. La Bruschetta - 10 mins cab ride away.

Ticks Every Single Box....

We spent 4 nights at Can Simoneta as a family of 6 and all agreed it was one of the best hotels we have ever stayed at, the combination of location, service and food is hard to beat and the breakfast is by a country mile the best we have experienced. The only negative for us, we like the option to walk to local restaurants to try something different from the hotel, the only local option which looked viable was the Cap Vermell Hotel which was simply awful, terrible food and hugely overpriced, the lack of alternative local places to eat is the only thing which would prevent a return visit, but that's not the fault of Can Simoneta which is hard to fault.

Quite the Masterpiece

If you want terrible service, horrific views, bad food, and an overall awful experience, DO NOT STAY HERE! From when we first checked in, we knew our stay here was going to be exceptional. Since it's a small hotel, the attention to the guests and level of service are supreme. By the second day, everyone knew our room number and names. We even went to the sister property for dinner one night and the waiter there knew that I was the "guest from Can Simoneta with the strawberry allergy". Talk about attention to detail!

We stayed in room number 34 in the beach house, which was great. The bed was a smidge hard for my liking, but nothing that would be a deal breaker. By staying in the beach house, you're in a separate building that's quite a walk down from the main hotel (not just an easy path too, there are many, many stairs). However, there people at the hotel that are readily available to drive you down in a golf cart, or as they say, a "buggy". There is a separate pool that you are also only allowed to use if you're staying in the beach house. However, we personally preferred the main pool due to it's proximity to the main hotel--this is the only pool that gets poolside service. Call me lazy, but I appreciate a drink being brought to my pool chair.

I highly recommend checking out the towns nearby of Cala Rajada and Arta. We also hired a driver for the afternoon (Hola Paco!!) and he took us over to Soller, Valldemossa, and Deia. It wasn't cheap, but well worth the cost to see the other side of the island--it's amazing. Cala Rajada has some great restaurants to check out and both Cala Rajada and Arta have awesome shopping.

The staff at this hotel are exceptional. Manny at the restaurant was always beaming with happiness, which is so refreshing to see. The front desk staff and hotel staff are attentive, friendly, and very helpful no matter what you need.

Last but certainly not least, the view. The sister property (Pleta de Mar) cannot hold a candle to this hotel. The view is unlike any that I've ever seen, and we've been many places before. It's a panoramic view of clear blue Mediterranean water that makes you feel like you're living in a postcard.

Like I said, if you're looking for anything less than five star, don't stay here. It's not cheap, but it's worth every cent.

Fantastic Lunch

Princesswhotravels on 07/07/2017 21:51

The lunch here is second only to the views! This is the second time we've stopped here for lunch and will undoubtably return. Make sure you take a walk down to the seafront plung pool and spend some time in the hotel grounds.
