The Rydges Motel is in a great location at 100 Goondoon Street within easy walking distance to the East Shores Precinct, (a wonderful riverside walk and water bubble park for children), Auckland Hill Lookout and the Marina.
The staff are very friendly and always made eye contact and greeted us every time we entered or exited the Motel.
The rooms are not big and are looking a little tired (carpet needs replacing) no balcony, but the beds are supper comfortable, linen clean and fresh. Shower over bathtub.
The Rydges has Elevators. The Restaurant and Bar are closed on Sundays.
A few under cover car parks, lots of open air parking.
Free City, Port and Power Plant Tours can be booked at the Info Centre approx 2klms from Rydges.

Conveniently located and staff friendly enough. Bathrooms are old and pokey. Mini bar is expensive, expect to pay $4.50 for a kit kat. The bed was great though and lots of pillow options which makes for a good night's sleep. Nice view of the pool. Go to the thai restaurant in the square below, it's excellent!

Hotel was fully booked when I arrived. The hotelis old, and not decorated.There is a heavy smell in the hotel and in the rooms.
The AC is VERY noisy
The staff is very polite and very helpfull.
The location of the hotel is good

I understand that this is an older building though the carpets were filthy and the air conditioning even though it is ducted sounded like a window rattler, I love the location though wont be staying again.

Rydges in Gladstone is an older building and the decor reflects its age. However, our standard double room was spacious, tidy, and clean. Visitors should be warned that the in-house restaurant/bar is closed over weekends. However, the hotel is well located with plenty of shops within easy walking distance - including multiple cafes/coffee shops, and a couple of pubs. The staff were friendly and extremely obliging and the hotel is situated in a quiet location, the hotel itself was also very quiet during our stay.
Bottom Line: It's not exactly luxury accommodation but it's clean, comfortable, and roomy, and represents excellent value for money.
