What People are saying

The worst experience ever!!

Athina S on 18/11/2017 19:07

We visited Rydges hotel at November, 2017, since we were attending the WTM exhibition in London.
I was with my colleague, when we entered the room and we suddenly were on a very very very small room with ONLY one bed, even though we were two ladies, and on the voucher our names indicated clearly that the room should have two beds.
When we asked for the correct room, the reception unpolitely and with a very non professional style, replied to us that this is the room...
The room was very small, imagine that the toilet was next to the bed also too small and with drai problem.
We asked several times to change the room, they did us the favor for one night by giving us a room with two beds on the underground floor. That was an unforgettable experience.... the room was smelling mold!!!! We couldn't sleep of the smell..imagine!! The bathroom had also this smell and the washbasin was also broken.
As far as the breakfast is comcerned it was too pour without any special variety. Breakfast had only bread with marmalade, honey, cake, fruits, milk, cheese and ham. Nothing else not even an omelet. The first day we had breakfast we asked for a cappuccino which was free of charge, the second day when we asked for coffee they charged it...!!
The entrance has only stairs, people who need help to enter do not have the access to that...in my opinion it was ever the worst, expensive and not worth hotel I have ever been. The only thing which counts is that opposite of the hotel there is a metro station!!
Regards,

Convenient for museums and well priced

Got a good deal from Expedia for an Executive King Room, room only, for a Thursday night for £125.

The hotel is very well situated for Gloucester Road Tube and the Exhibition Road Museums. It is tastefully decorated, and there was a friendly and helpful welcome from reception staff.

Our room was bright, spacious, well appointed and clean. It was at the front of the building, so there was a reasonable view, though obviously a bit noisier. A couple of tips:
- check you can get the air conditioning to work before you go to bed. We failed to do this, or to operate it.
- watch out for very hot water from the shower if you make too big an adjustment (which is easy to do)

Very nice hotel, perfect location

The hotel is very nice, clean, and chic. The front office team does a great job (is my second time in Rydges Kensington and they didn’t disappoint). The location is perfect -1 minute walking distance from metro station and 10-15 minutes walking from shopping area.Kensington park is also very close. My preferred hotel in London

Great location - nice size rooms

Recently spent a few days at the Rydges for a conference/meeting which was hosted in the hotel. It's a nice hotel with very clean rooms and nice bathrooms. Rooms have a coffee machine as well as hot water kettle. The restaurant in the hotel is mediocre.
Very close walking distance to Kensington Gardens and just across from the tube making easy access to any part of the city.
Really enjoyed my stay - got upgraded to a room that had an adjoining living area (convertible sofa bed and TV) - great for family with kids.

Into Room 101

Jonvalleyboy on 07/11/2017 17:49

Got a late deal on hotels.com for £160 per night. Reception helpful and professional, and hotel well located.

Got allocated room 101. I presume it was a converted broom cupboard, as it was located on a stairwell.

Room was very small indeed. Needed to turn head by 45 degrees to see the television.

Then the fumes hit me. There is a extractor vent outside the window. Rapidly got a sore throat.

Couldn't spend the night like this.

Got the room moved by reception, who were very helpful and carried my bag over to the new room. But at an extra cost of £50. For that price there would have been lots of other hotels available.

Would I go back to the hotel? No.

My best advice is if you go there. Tell them anything but room 101.
