A budget hotel with great potential

Stayed in this hotel for a night due to its excellent location near the commercial street. Located in the well known Safina Plaza and having the potential to offer a four star ( or at least a high range 3 star) facility at this property, the management appears to be completely indifferent to exploit it. The lobby is in the passage of first floor appears to be in a temporary set up giving a strange look and one hardly believes this could be a hotel lobby. It appears that the management is more interested in leasing out the spaces of Safina plaza ( for shops) along with some important space used by the hotel in the past. The rooms are apparently of 4 star quality at first sight when one enters, but the bathroom is terrible. They serve breakfast in the 2nd floor open terrace, but we did not feel like to go there. Safina plaza itself has some Indian food options till 9 pm or so. Commercial street ( most attractive place for shopping in Bangalore) is almost adjacent to the Safina Plaza and MG Road ( it was most happening place in the past but no more) is just a few blocks away. Without considering the lobby and the bathroom, anyone can assume that Safina was a great hotel in the past, but only due to total negligence and indifference of the management, it has become a star less hotel today. In a nutshell, I was really disappointed seeing the condition of a property having so much potential and in vicinity of such an excellent location!!!

we stayed in this hotel when we visited Bangalore. Good cozy room. Ambience is good . It was only a night stay . As it was a business trip we could not stay long and we had to check out early morning next day.Overall we had a good stay.

I stayed in Safina Hotel with family when we visited Bangalore for a short holiday in India.
On the plus side, we arrived at close to 6am and there were a few people around to help us with the bags and check us in. On the down side, they gave us the key to the room which was not ready to hold 3 people, there were no towels, no toiletries, no rugs, nothing.... so the next morning we had to ask room service to get them for us.
Breakfast was okay, they had dosa, idly and a sorry excuse for an omelette.
Overall the hotel was more of a travelers inn. The staff are friendly but not upto hotel standards.
They gave us free internet coupons to use in the hotel, each coupon was valid only for 24h so every day we had to ask the desk for new coupons, this was quite irritating as 1 coupon is for only 1 device. So if you are using your phone and laptop, that's 2 coupons.
This place is for people on a budget who want the best location for doing some shopping in the surrounding streets. If that is not what you're after, don't bother with Safina Hotel.
