3-night stay

We were quite negatively surprised about our stay here. The hotel looks like it has seen better days and is by no means a 4 star hotel,even looking at similar ranked ones on monte argentario it seems odd. The room was nice although the mosquitos and spider webs haven't ever been brushed away it seemed. the bathroom doesn't have a shower curtain which means you're flooding the entire bathroom... we had to fight a bit to get the wifi working on our level as the password we were given didn't work for a whole day and they had to reset it. the breakfast was okay but not on a 4 star level again. it was exactly the same for 3 days and you had to pay extra for several things like eggs, omelette, fruit salad or juices. asking for 3€ per egg (!!) is a bit rude in my opinion in that sort of hotel and up to 12€ for a fruit juice...? we asked on recommendations for a nice beach and sadly ended up at. very ugly beach right at the street. we adventured out the next two days by ourselves and found some way nicer ones! would not come here again.

Elegant hotel in city centre

Very nice hotel with elegant premises, a tranquil atmosphere, very nicely decorated rooms, a very good breakfast, and a young & friendly staff who spoke excellent English. The bed was of the typical Italian hard type. The location is right in the centre, about 100 meters from the main square of this quaint little town.

Beautiful old hotel

Stayed here one night on our Italy road trip. Staff were very friendly and hotel standards were good. Location of the hotel is very good, close enough to walk straight into the buzz area but far enough for a good night's sleep.
Breakfast in a beautiful patio and normal Italy standards.

Inadequate airconditioning

I checked in here for one night, having stayed here about 2 years ago and on that trip, then really liked the hotel. This trip was a severe disappointment. While the staff really tried to work with me to find a room where the air conditioning was strong, the hotel has inadequate air conditioning. My room never cooled below 25C/77F. In any other hotel i will lower the temp to 20C/68F to really sleep.

Despite being given a fan, I was unable to really sleep (after over 24 hrs being awake) and was soaking wet after a few hours. The irony was that upon checkin and while walking to the room, the young (somewhat arrogant) man promise me I was getting the coldest room in the hotel (ironically that room never cooled below 26C/79F).

After multiple complaints, a second front desk man moved me 4 rooms away, to a smaller room, where the coolest it ever got was 25C. He worked hard to try to make mr happy, but couldnt address an inadequate AC system. I give this 2 dots (poor versus 1 Terrible) only because how hard he tried to make me comfirtable. The AC was working, but it is clearly undersized for the hotel and summer temp (it was 89F/32C outside). I paid 159€ for the room and the best they could do for me was not pay the city tax. The room should have been free or if discounting it, maybe 50€ (what an unairconditioned B&B would charge). Wifi was strong. Parking free in a dirt parking lot near hotel. Breakfast was plenty standard Italian pastry. My advice - Avoid this place in the summer unless you like hot hotel rooms.

A surprising gem!

Had not planned to stay in Orbetello, but events dictated otherwise. Finding the San Biagio was super lucky. What a gem. Quiet, charming, very good breakfast, and, best of all, fantastic staff people who were absolutely the best. Wonderful. Stayed for two nights and was sorry to leave.
