Good hotel

The hotel is a an area just outside the main town, avoiding the dreaded narrow streets if driving. It has a proper free parking area behind the hotel. Staff were fine, decent sized, clean rooms. Good breakfast. Three supermarkets close by. Interesting family run resturant nearby. Overall good value.
Great stay!

In all, an excellent choice if visiting Campobasso and environs.
Room: The room was as pictured. Plenty of space for two people and luggage. Beds clean and comfortable. Ample, soft towels changed daily. Adjustable shower; good temperature control. Sufficient electrical outlets. Refrigerator included drinks and snacks at reasonable prices. TV was large, with clear viewing and ample channels. Large double door opens to small balcony, allowing plenty of light and fresh air. Air conditioning was effective and suitably quiet when we elected to use it.
Noise: Room was generally very quiet except after one late-night event on the main floor (chairs being rearranged at 1:30 a.m. could be heard on the second floor). Otherwise, you can expect good sleep.
Staff: With the exception of the man at reception desk on the evening of our arrival (who didn't bother to even greet us or offer any information), most desk staff were helpful and pleasant. Dining room servers, and especially room cleaning staff were pleasant, helpful, and attentive.
Breakfast: large selection of sweets, breads, ham, cheese, yogurt, juice, coffee and tea. Enough to satisfy a broad range of guests.
Dinner: Twice during our stay, the restaurant was unavailable for dinner due to large parties/events. If you intend to dine there, be sure to ask each day as to whether it is available. The menu changes daily, and the prices are reasonable. The quality of food is high, and the service prompt and friendly.
Location: Excellent, especially if using a car. Though it is situated below the city center, it is possible to walk to town, with the plus side that your return trip is downhill. If driving, there is the benefit of free parking on site, and it is very easy to get in and out of town without having to travel through the traffic of the central business area. There are shops and some restaurants nearby, as well as a large grocery store just meters away.
Dated Rooms and Mostly Surly Service

I will start this review with the two positive aspects of my two night stay. Shortly after we arrived, a very helpful and friendly employee showed me the way to the grocery store near the hotel. I appreciated her kindness. Also, the wifi was great at the hotel.
The rooms in the hotel were dated. Breakfast was not good...not much flavor in any of the food. Surly service at breakfast and the front desk. I could not wait until we checked out of the hotel and will not return if I am ever in the area.
Nice hotel, accommodating to Americans

Our group spent 4 nights at the Hotel San Giorgio. The hotel was very nice and they appeared to make a special "American breakfast" of bacon and eggs each morning for our group. The front desk staff was very nice but is limited in English. Rooms are great and bathrooms are upgraded. Be aware they they are energy efficient and you must put your room key in the slot near the door to have the air conditioning on. We didn't know this the first day.
Great for groups!

Hotel San Giorgio is ideal for large groups due to its location. .For four nights, we brought 50 Americans to stay for a family reunion in nearby village (ancestral home). Salvatore Menniti, especially, was extremely helpful in coordinating plans and making sure our stay was magnificent. I highly recommend this place for its charm and level of service.
