Needs a refurbish

I had been here 19 years ago. Not a cent has been spent in maintenance.......Very relaxing place, all spoiled when you go inside the premises.... the pictures speak for themselves.
And these are just a few. Disgusting is a good word to describe the place. The only redeeming aspect is the food ( 3 stars), horse back riding, not even the pool area( totally uninviting and full of mold). We got apparently one of the suites..... couldn't place our clothing inside our closet.... moldy. Terrible. Really terrible.
Looking for horse riding? Here you should come

Large estancia, now catering for tourists, most of its area is sold to farmers. Interesting history with roots back to old England. Main building is open for guests to see the way of living as it was until the mid 1940`s. Some rooms are located in this part. Air conditioning standard. Boarding in separate building, walking distance, most roof covered.
Not fully maintained in top class, but OK. In general Uruguay is not familiar with hotel standards required by European travellers.4 star rating in Uruguay can well be 2 star rating or 3 stars in W Europe...
Lovely location

Good swimming pools. Plenty of nice food. Some staff were obviously not trained but most were friendly. The room was shabby. Our shower did not work for two days out of 3 days and we had to use another vacant room for washing. The stairs and hallways were littered with dead insects on our first night and all the next day and cleaned only before a big influx of weekend visitors.
better than expected

One of those times when our expectations were exceeded by the photos and the descriptions. This place is the real deal. It is a working ranch and has the original main house of the owner which is a Spanish gem. The people are very friendly and helpful. The horses and scenery are magnificient. We did not have children with us but I think it would be super for kids. Lots of animals; sheep, pigs, cattle, horses, ostrichs, peacocks, and thousands of wild parrots. To sum it up it is a magical place. If you drive make sure you have good directions from the hotel because there is little signage.
San Pedro de Timote Hotel del Campo, Uruguay

If you want to know a little more about rural life in Uruguay then you must visit this place - it's wonderful. It is situated in a region somewhat remote, near the town of Cerro Colorado, about 3 hours northeast of Montevideo but worth the trip. The daily per person may seem a bit expensive, but there are also included the 4 meals a day and various activities such as horseback riding through the propriedade.Uma tip for who will direct from Montevideo to the hotel, be sure to take Route 6, because the road is better than the route 7. There is a travel agency (ALURUGUAY) that can get a discount on the published rate when booking the hotel, look for it.
This place is great for the entire family. You will have time to relax, time to go on horse back riding and enjoy the country. We enjoyed the food and the afternoon tea time. We have stayed in the main house and in the guest annex, both are fabulous.
