We really like this restaurant in the old town of Malaga. It does get busy but the food is worth it. I shared Solomillo with my wife and the steak was fantastic.
I would highly recommend.

I hesitate a lot before i chose any restaurant in the downtwon and finnally chose El Piyayo and i was not disappointed.
And the waiter there( Mohssine ) is such a greate guy, he recocommended me a delicious food

Went here as we looked inside and thought the decor looked nice old Spanish pictures on the wall of flamenco and bull fighting and a giant painting of people riding a tram. We ordered veal croquettes and squid to start and then the waitress went away never to be seen again. The starter came about 20 minutes later and the croquettes had no veal in them and the squid was like a hard rubber and very bland i think it may have been off as i had a bad stomach for a couple of days even though i only had a small mouthful. We then waited for our main course for over an hour while we sat there with dirty playes as nobody came to clean them away we asked a waiter how long the main course would be and he said ah flamenco yes down the road. We then asked another waiter who spoke good English where are the chicken skewers we ordered. He started to clap his hands like an idiot and say flamenco you want flamenco. Clearly this is what they must do when somebody has a complaint pretend they don't understand and say flamenco repeatedly. We walked out and when we said we where not willing to pay all of the sudden everyone could speak excellent English. The waiter who was extremly rude and patronising said the chicken skewer takes an hour to cook because it is fresh not frozen which makes no sense. And after tasting the starters i doubt anything is fresh in there. We where made to pay for the starters that we didn't even eat and they tried to charge us for beers that we didn't drink. Awful excuse of a restaurant and the worse dining experience ever. Much better restaurants in Malaga.

This was the worst service and food i have ever encountered. We was given our starters and then waited an hour before we asked how much longer our food would be after speaking to 2 waiters both were pretending they couldn't understand what we where asking even the guy who spoke excellent English when we arrived suddenly pretended he couldn't understand a word of English. When we said we will not wait any longer we where passed on to who i would presume was the manager who was a small bald very rude man who told us that this is a restaurant and not a mcdonalds and i totally agree as mcdonalds has better food and better service. I would not recommend this place to anybody!

It is better to come early here for lunch, because it is packed later and one can understand why. The food is good, some dishes (pimientos, bocerones) very good. Service is friendly and efficient. The prices are a little high, but this is the touristic center of Malaga. On the whole, a recommendable place.
