Hotel room was out of date but reasonably neat. Place was supposed to have wifi but it was not working (we still had to pay full price)! TV with only about 4 very fuzzy channels to watch.
Blue River itself is not much to see, has nothing to do. Given the state of the houses we saw (if you can still call them that) we weren't even comfortable going for an evening walk!
No deadlock on the room's door 🚪 either.
Stay if you need to sleep, but if you can, move on. This place is not worth what you have to pay to stay.

Stayed at the Sandman Inn for one night en route from Edmonton to Alberta; needed a pet friendly room for my wife and I, and a German Shepherd-Huskie cross (not a lapdog). The room was clean, the bed and pillows clean and comfortable. Bathroom and vanity had been nicely redone fairly recently. Carpet was dated, and the room had a bit of an odour, probably due to its pet friendliness... nothing objectionable, though, and we'll worth the price.
The restaurant in the hotel was very busy, and because their grocery order was two days late, they only had pasta and hamburgers - but it was probably one of the best hamburgers I've had in a long time!

Decent hotel. From the outside it looks terrible. Inside there has been some renovation a few years ago. It looks light and modern. No elevator. Wifi was out of order, they were waiting for supplies (???). Room was not very clean. Stained bedcover, sink had soap residue from previous guests. Airconditioning was unacceptable noisy. Blanket was in a closet and when putting it to the bed it was sticky so I think long time no use.

Heading home from Lloydminster to Vancouver and stopped overnight at the Sandman. It was clean and updated with new bathrooms and furniture etc. The bed was only a double but for an overnight stay didn't mind. It's a great stop off place with a very good restaurant attached, clean and quiet.

The hotel was comfortable and well priced but the jewel in the crown was the unexpectedly good restaurant. Great choice for evening meal and breakfast. No wonder we had to book a table, as all the locals love the food too.
