What People are saying

Great hotel for families

NeenerJ on 14/11/2017 01:56

Stayed here for the weekend twice recently, we have 2 small kids and 1 infant and get the family suite which has bunk beds, a king sz bed and a small functional kitchen. We found the room while small was cozy and perfect for our crew. The beds are super comforable and the fact that the hotel restaurant is fabulous and offers room service is a huge Wahoo for us. Definitely recommend the restaurant downstairs and it's room service option, thr food is delicious although a bit pricey. The hotel has a small store with items you may have forgotten, snacks and comp coffee & tea.
We will be back to this hotel again without a doubt.
Sandman has a lucky 13 punch card as well... I was disappointed that the front desk staff didn't advise us of this as we had just stayed at another sandman property for 4 nights and could have used those nights. We found the lucky 13 card in our room and are now collecting stamps. After 12 nights at any sandman property the 13th night is free. They say there is no expiration and it doesn't need to be consecutive nights.
The location is great too just 3 min drive to the mall, costco and across the street from superstore.
New clean hotel, we will definitely be back!

Ok hotel, but overpriced

Hotel room was clean and modern. Bathroom had a nice deep bathtub. Everything was in working order, but hotel finishing are starting to look worn (countertops in bathrooms).

The rooms are quite overpriced for what you get and where you are.

VERY DISAPPOINTED!

Due to a concert in town there were not many rooms left at this hotel but did not expect the condition of our room! Our room had wet carpet in many areas of the room! We reported it before we unpacked our bags, was offered to stay in this room or an upgrade to a king room, as we did not want to share a bed we stayed. Housekeeping came with a carpet cleaner while we went to supper. It still did not dry the carpet. The towels were also frayed, food by the couch leg, not a well cleaned room., When we checked out we told the manager our concerns, we were told we were given the lowest rate he could give, were offered 50% off next stay if we contacted him directly. We prob. would not be going north again till next spring. Very disappointed

Very nice hotel

While travelling through British Columbia we came upon the Sandman Hotel late in the evening. Stopped in and received a room at a very reasonable rate considering we did not have a reservation.
The facility staff were very friendly and helpful. There is a restaurant on site, we did not eat there though it seems like a lot of people do. The restaurant was busy and sounded like everyone was having a good time. Our room was clean and very comfortable. Would definitely recommend the Sandman in Prince George.

Fading Fast

For context, I've been travelling to Prince George for several years and have stayed at most of the business class hotels in the area. In the 7-8 years since this hotel has opened, I've stayed here about twice a year. As you can expect, there has been some wear and tear over that time, but its really starting to show now. My most recent trip will likely be the last time that I stay at this hotel given the options in the area.

Here's a brief summary of the issues that I encountered:
1) Internet access through the wired network portal was not available.
2) The wireless network constantly tripped out. I could not video conference or maintain a VPN connection.
3) The room thermostat could not keep the room temperature at a comfortable level.
4) The remote control for the television was missing from the room.
5) The room tv is very limited in terms of selection. Only a handful of channels worked. It turns out that not having a remote control in the room really was of no consequence.
6) While the hotel lists that it has room service, the menus for the hotel restaurant are either outdated or non-existent. I guess that you could always go online to get the menu to order room service. Oh wait, going online can come with it's own issues (see above).

For some final context, some of the issues above are not significant to me. I understand the nature of business travel and have listed those area of concern that I believe would be of importance to others.

For those travelling to the area for business, I would recommend any of the following hotels before the Signature Sandman: Four Points Sheraton, Treasure Cove, Coast Hotel of the North, Ramada
