I booked because the agency through which I booked said it was close to Mirabilandia (the aim of our visit) but when we arrived we found that there was no public transport to take us to Lido di Classe/Savio Station. So if you don't rent a car or have your own car, don't go. We had to take a taxi every day to and from the station - and it became quite expensive.
The hotel is fair. Very small rooms but has all the necessities. The nice thing about it was that it overlooked the sea and the sun came into the room in the morning (faces east).
Hotel receptionist knew nothing about how to get from place A to place B. She knew nothing about public transport etc. I couldn't believe that she could be a receptionist. There were no maps available and basically no information whatsoever. The tourist info office was always closed.
Breakfast was a disaster, especially if you are used to having English breakfast, as there is no savoury food - just sweet brioche and a miriad of jams and chocolate spreads - no eggs, no toast, no ham, nothing. I was very, very disappointed (the only positive thing is that in the same street there is CRAI and you can buy and make your own breakfast as they sell good bread and good cheeses and hams).
This hotel seems to cater for Italians. I have discovered that they are very noisy and will not allow you to sleep before midnight or even one. I complained at the reception about the noise.
The hotel lies adjacent to the sea so pleasant walks along the coast are guaranteed. One pleasant experience was the restaurant in the same street 'da mimmo' which is very reasonable and serves very good pasta and fish dishes - stay away from the meat dishes though.
Mirabilandia was the reason why we came here. If we knew how difficult it would be to get there we would have stayed in Ravenna and not Lido di Classe because from Ravenna you take the train to Lido and at Lido there is a free bus to Mirabilandia. The park is great especially the stunts of Scuola di polizia - this makes the park better than any legoland visited so far.
