Toledo is a beautiful and interesting historic city which is quite crowded with tour groups during the day. Evenings are so much better and certainly worth an overnight stay or two. There did not seem to be an abundance of hotels in the old city, but we were grateful to have booked the Hotel Santa Isabel. It is well located to tour the city, although I was glad we arrived by taxi from the rail station instead of having to navigate the steep narrow streets by auto.
The staff of the hotel was friendly and helpful at all times. We stayed in a "romantic room" on the third floor below the roof terrace. I would describe the room as small, with a grand view. Throw open the shutters and you have a wonderful view of the Cathedral, beautiful in the day's changing light. The rooftop terrace, reached by a small spiral staircase, was a wonderful place to take in the night lights of the city and the cathedral while enjoying the bottle of wine that was included with the room.
Breakfast is served in the hotel cafeteria and frankly is nothing to rave about. It is extremely reasonable though and met our need of getting some morning coffee, juice, and croissant without having to leave the hotel.
Overall, we were very pleased with this hotel and it was a great value. We were able to stay a couple of nights here in Toledo for less than the cost of one night in one of the cheaper hotels in Madrid. Another reason to spend the night in Toledo!

Located steps away from the cathedral and in the heart of the old centre
Staff extremely helpful and friendly
Room although small was clean and comfortable
There were little treats of marzipan for clients
Staff printed off our boarding passes
Would definitely go back

The hotel was everything you want when you're in Spain - it had a really authentic feel to it and the staff were charming and helpful.
We were a short walk from the cathedral and managed to easily find everything we wanted to see.

We booked this hotel on 29th of August, 2017 for 1 night stay on Oct.2., received conformation that the payment is non refundable.
We arrived on that day around 6 pm to find out that there was no reservation made.
Clerk at the hotel produced couple of sheets of paper filled by hand as a proof of no reservation.
After a day on the road we were tired and accepted an offer of the room that turned out to be very small without air conditioning working. It was stifling hot. The included breakfast was rather sparse and not very good.
I booked this hotel after raving reviews of travellers on tripadviser. The double room thatwas supposed to be romantic with great views turned out to be ground floor with window on the staircase.
I am quite upset and would like everyone to be aware of this hotel

This hotel is a real find. Excellent value for money, friendly and very helpful staff. Location great, short distance from the cathedral. Easy access from the rail station by taxi, about 6 euros. Only minor criticism is with the breakfast.Not the service, that was very good, but the food was a bit hard going, except the freshly pressed orange juice. But it was so cheap, what more could you expect? We'd certainly go back to this hotel if we went again to Toledo, itself a great experioence..
