Between the Sea and the Railway

This hotel has very nice decor (recent?) And very spacious rooms with lots of hanging facilities. Cars can be parked (for 5 euros a night) in a compound with a heavy sliding gate but it is a little distant for mobility impaired folk. The rooms have excellent showers, toilets etc and the beds are very comfortable. The staff are very friendly and helpful. There is a nice garden where you can take drinks.breakfast is diverse and good. The only real downside is the busy rail line at the back of the building. In

We stayed for two nights, booking was via web just 10 minutes before. We got a very warm welcome and an upgrade for the room. It had it best years already, but is still tidy, big and comfortable.
The view seaside is fantastic. Overnight you have to deal with classical Italian style noises, even the train, which passes close, is not too loud, as there is pretty no traffic in night.
Thank's a lot to the team for the great service and all the question answered.

A very intresting hotel, make sure when booking you ask for a recently refurbished room, the older rooms have a cloth and padded wall covering, the bathroom is more of a corridor and the shower a phone box, which if you are large is a very tight squeeze
The window shutters takes some working out.
During our stay they were painting the reception area

Not much choice of places to stay in Chiavari, but I would recommend this one. Easy to find, and just a short five minute walk to the lovely historic shopping arcades in the town centre. Worth coming here just for that..
There is a private parking compound, but looked dark and gloomy so preferred to leave the vehicle out in the bright street car park nearby.
Reception were very helpful and friendly. Room was pleasant with mini bar TV (the only English channel is CNN Ch434 saved you looking) bathroom super clean nice soaps as well. Really enjoyed my evening meal in the smart but independantly run restaurant in the hotel. Good service and decent food.
Downsides are the train noise, must be quite loud at rear facing rooms so make sure you get a sea view. Little bit of traffic noise but this and the train noise stops overnight until early morning so not an issue. The night manager was very rude indeed, shouting at us to leave our key, complained about this to reception in the morning. You have been warned, but so rude and impolite almost laughable and did not spoil the stay!
Breakfast was lovely I had scrambled egg and ham. Nice range of teas. Great value at 5€.
Keep your receipts as they tried to bill me in the morning for the room (prepaid) and dinner (paid in restaurant). All in all I would stay again and recommend especially at the low season rates.
Friendly Service, Good Location

The room is on the 4th floor so we have a pretty good view of the town. Train tracks run right behind the hotel, but there is practically no noise. There is a sundeck on the top floor with great views. Anyway, the room is clean with comfy bed. A/C works once you figure out how to turn it on! Windows can be opened for fresh air, but no screens (like most places we've stayed). Downers: Only one pillow each. The small decorative pillow doesn't count. Only one tiny wastebasket in the bathroom and I mean tiny. No tissues. No place in the shower to put toiletries/razor/soap while showering. Mini fridge is totally devoted to mini bar items, no extra room for our water. Just says greedy to me. No free parking except on the street. The parking is free on one side of the street, you get a ticket if you park overnight on the other side. There is a hotel car park at 5E per night. We were able to find parking in front both nights of our stay. Breakfast was good, but cost 5E per person per day, not included as so many other hotels. All staff we met were friendly and efficient. Rate was just under 100E per night.
