Have stayed at the Scandic Sonderborg several times, and if you do not expect first class service and surroundings, the hotel is ok. But it is very basic - the rooms are if not large, then not small either (compared to e.g. london hotel rooms) and they are fitted with queen beds/roll outs, basic nordic furniture but no kettle, tea/coffee etc. which I think is a minimum in a hotel room these days. We had to request extra towels as only one set where placed in the room, even though we were two people the whole stay. And we had to fetch it at the reception - no delivery to the room - and that sums things up: In a hotel where a room costs app. $200 per night (incl. OK breakfast) the least one could expect is service - and that is not quite up to the standard I can/will expect from a hotel with roomprices like that. The staff were nice and accomodating, but it still lowers the rating and our possibility to stay here again, that the service all over the hotel (and don't get me started on the service in the bar at night - full house - one man to serve = looong queue/waiting time) you get for the price are rather low. Scandic Sonderborg -if you want to charge these steep prices you must be able to up the service quite a bit. We'll look somewhere else if were in the area again.

The hotel is good. Good food, good installations and surroundings.
It is allocated near the airport but far away from the city. So you need permanently the use of a taxi.
However, the best is the attention of the stuff. They really provide you with a great service.

Good value. Friendly. Clean. Good breakfast. Great dinners. Easy parking. Convenient to highway 8. Quiet. Not the fanciest hotel, but professional and everything needed. Eat dinner at the hotel - it's surpringly great!

Rooms - very, very basic! No kettle or drink making facilities, glasses in bathroom very small and do not compliment refreshment.
Bathroom - clean, more of a wet room.
Beds - comfortable
Breakfast - decent quality, with vast choice of selection including nuts, berries and linseed.

We stayed with the kids for a night. It's a comfortable hotel, located in a nice area. It has an outdoor grass soccer field, and an indoor swimming pool. Not good for swiming (too small), but good to play with the kids.
The rooms are correct, breakfast too
