The rooms overlooking the pool were big! Full size FRIDGE and STOVE! Safeway right across the street perfect for picking things up to make. The room had a pull out couch and a back bedroom with a patio overlooking the pool. perfect for calling the kids in for dinner. Staff were great. The Hot tub was awesome! The pool no longer has a slide but is outside and great. We had a second floor room and a first floor would have been better with kids. Laundry facilities at this motel and a pool side would make it better. I had to put a $200 deposit down and it took a week to get back but the Manager released the hold right away as soon as it was brought to her attention. we were only planning on staying 2 nights but ended up staying an extra night as we did not want to leave. we took the kids to The two lakes near by and to the Kangaroo farm in Lake Country.

We spent just one night at this motel but thoroughly enjoyed it. Great staff, great location, clean, quiet .. completely enjoyable stay. I had messed up the initial reservation but without a blink of an eye, Marsha had us set up in the proper room and ready for us to relax. The rooms were spotless, even though the motel is on a main road, there was no noise to disturb our sleep. We are very much looking forward to our next stay! I highly recommend Schell Motel to anyone staying in Vernon BC!

My wife and I stayed at the Schell Motel for five days this summer and found the motel to be clean, comfortable and well located. The room was a good size (enough room to set up two computers on the table with two chairs), the bed was comfortable, A/C was a bit noisy, staff were friendly, always had ice available and sufficient parking (didn't try the pool, but it looked nice and clean). It's located downtown within walking distance of several restaurants, Safeway and retail shops. The motel is also a few blocks off the busy highway running thru town.

Hey guys. I did NOT stay here but it's really worth mentioning how great their customer service is. I wasn't aware there was a Schell Motel Express so when I pulled up here instead the ladies at the front desk told me they would love for me to stay here and a room is ready for me but I should contact Schell motel express to make sure I didn't book there and if I do not show up I could possibly be charged. And the ladies were right! I was at the wrong one. Without them mentioning that I would have been charged and paid for a night here as well.
The lobby looked very clean and updated as well.

We were only in Vernon for 1 night, as we were travelling around BC on vacation.
I saw this place has good ratings, and it should teach everyone not to judge a book by its cover. A lot of motels may appear dated from the outside, but this was clean and spacious on the inside for the price we paid.
I believe they are animal friendly, but I did not detect any smells in the rooms and everything was clean. The shower has a window that allows you to hear a small stream running behind the motel. Very soothing at night!
Check out was easy and we had a restful night. I would definitely stay here again.
