Absolutely luxury. We chose to celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary here and have just returned from the most amazing week. We truly felt like royalty staying in a large modern room with a private balcony with exquisite mountain views, as well as being able to explore the gorgeous ancient castle - the private chapel, the beautifully restored dining rooms and lounges, the cellars and the turret. We were blessed with amazing weather which meant we would dine outside for both breakfast and dinner on the terrace (on top of the castle wall) or in the castle courtyard. Both give amazing views of the mountains. The food was excellent - half board is highly recommended - beautifully presented, tasty and generous. The breakfast buffet is magnificent. We were really impressed at how the management and designers have worked on blending the ancient with the modern with seamless brilliance. They have thought of everything. We loved the spa and swimming in an outdoor heated pool with such incredible scenery is unbeatable. All the staff were extremely attentive and I can honestly say we were spoiled. We had a hire car and were able to easily explore the lovely Tyrolean villages down towards Lienz and up into the mountain pass/ ski areas like Westenhof. We especially loved the ornate Tyrolean churches - every village seems to have one. It was very difficult to leave and I am not sure we will find another hotel to quite match this awesome experience. Highly recommended for a summer holiday.

One foggy autumn evening we've realized that it's too far to our final destination and better to find a place to sleep. I didn't know about Schloss Mittersill, and just a have seen a road sign and turned there from the dark night road.
It is amazing! It is unbelievably great!
Yes, may be it's not the cheapest one, but every paid cent worth it.
It's fantastic place with the top level of service and guest's care. Beautiful view, large rooms, spa, pool - what else can you dream of? We didn't really fit into the suit
Would be happy to return someday!

My wife and I spent two nights at Schloss Mittersill. The decorations are traditional country castle and the infrastructure (rooms, water, lighting, wi-fi, etc.) are very modern. First class all the way. The staff was attentive, helpful and friendly. Our room was spacious, clean and comfortable. The castle is fun to explore, the views are amazing and the spa facilities first rate. The included breakfast was extensive and delicious. The wi-fi was very fast; I had no problem streaming Netflix. Not anywhere close to budget prices, but a great getaway weekend. Be sure to notice that prices are quoted per person. I overheard one fellow getting surprised that his bill was going to be X2.

What a glorious place to visit.
All the staff from reception waiters and shuttle driver were kind and helpful.
There is a free shuttle van which took us to ski slopes in 5-10mins.
Food awesome and luxury!
Well situated in a quiet and very scenic place.
Outdoor pool and spa surrounding mountains all relaxed us after skiing.
Room very clean tidy and plenty of free drinks were kept to us everyday.
We went with our 2 kids who enjoyed everything including free DVD rentals.
Brilliant! We will visit again and again!

This hotel is just a gem in the Austrian alps. The staff is very friendly. The dinner service is great. It is a short drive to a gondola that will take you to some amazing hikes. There are no one to welcome you on arrival but when you take the lift to second floor you will be met by staff and you get a glass of bubbly while you register.
Def worth a visit if you want a relaxing holiday.
Staff could be better in English to be able to communicate better with guests.
