We stayed here for 3 nights as part of a tour. The carpets in the rooms were disgusting and the furniture needs to be replaced. On the upside the bed linens were great and the bed was comfortable. Sadly, so many people still smoke in China and you are lucky if you get a room that doesn’t smell of smoke.

Maybe we were lucky, but our accommodation at this Hotel was satisfactory. We had ice so didn't need the fridge. Although the toilet wouldn't flush, a handy husband soon rectified the problem. Hot water worked well for showers.
I don;t mind a firm bed, so no complaints there. Even though the staff didn't speak a lot of english, I managed to get them to understand me. The Chef at the Egg station had my eggs waiting for me, the way I liked them cooked, each morning, so again, no complaints. Overall, if you treat people nice, they treat you nice in return.

Recent Trip-a-deal visit included this hotel for 3 days. From the outside this huge building is awe inspiring due to its impressive façade and architecture. Not what you would expect in china. However internally the rooms, although large, need an upgrade badly . They have been neglected. Worst of all are the dirty carpets. Bed linen and towels and consumables however are fine. Breakfast dining room also very good. So in summary, if you need modern new, and clean rooms give this hotel a miss - we were fine with it because worn furniture and a few carpet stains are ok to live with.

First hotel on a tripadeal tour, very underwhelming, tired rooms, poor service, uninterested restaurant staff, shame. For a hotel that has a lot of western tourists on a regular basis, more than 70 on our tour, only the reception staff understood a little English, felt like we were all a inconvenience.

This hotel was nothing short of fawlty towers. Arrived in the evening on our tour bus. First impressions beautiful hotel. Went straight upstairs to find food, we were ushered into a room where they turned on the lights and said if we all order the same thing it will be quicker, so we ordered a hamburger and chips thinking less trouble. The burger meat was black on the outside and raw on the inside, chips were cold. Another lady on our table ordered noodles, they were cold and gloopy, her husband's order never arrived. After some debate we paid only for our beers which were warm, it took 40 minutes to negotiate, we were not happy to pay for inedible food. Breakfast in the same room was a joke, all food cold due to lids being constantly left open. Constantly running out of cups, glasses and food. Worse of all we had to eat with plastic cutlery all 3 mornings, and the tablecloths were never changed from the night before. I tried to get laundry done in the morning only to find it still on the bed in the evening , Concierge told me I had to pay a 500 yuen deposit, so I did it was eventually picked up but the next night I had to chase it down as it seemed to go missing. Then our safe would not open. After a comical conversation between cheerful charlie the housekeeping man on our floor and 2 managers who attended they opened up the safe to find the battery pack had fallen out so they proceeded to sticky tape it back together, Needless to say we didn't use the safe after that. The wine bar downstairs was a joke advertising drinks they had no idea how to make or what alcohol was what. You couldnt even get a glass of wine you had to buy a full bottle. A good tip there is a little shop in the foyer that sells beers, wine snacks etc at a fraction of the price you can go and have a relax in your room with a nice cold beer from the little shop. You are best off eating out of the hotel. Across the road which you can get to by the overpass is the Golden Harbour Hotel and they have a great hot pot restaurant on the second floor with cold beers and they go out of their way to serve you unlike the Schonbrunn staff who we found very arrogant and unhelpful. This hotel is a lovely hotel but the service all round was terrible and made for a very unpleasant stay. Also it is not near anything so you feel stuck there.
